“It is an honor to be here in connection with this program, sponsored by the US government and administered by Boston College. I congratulate all of you who have been through the program, and commend Boston College for its leadership. It contributes to the resilience, the energy, and the talent of the people and the business community of Ireland. They benefit from the close friendship, business and personal, between this country and the United States. Fortunately, it’s a two-way street.
Across America, from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean, men and women of Irish citizenship and Irish heritage are working and building, creating jobs and communities, deepening our ties and enhancing both societies…we need to recognize that we are more than a collection of individuals.”
