Guide to disabling MAM vehicle suggestions

Bosch spark plugs fulfil the specific requirements of car manufacturers, offering the highest level of reliability and using state-of-the-art technology. The catalogue still provides diverse, broad and up-to-date market coverage but is now easier to navigate as garages look to restock. The Bosch Spark Plug cataloguing ensures that the correct spark plug is clearly identified and matches the original equipment spark plug. Bosch offers a standard “Bosch Spark Plug” range (Nickel-Chrome, Nickel-Yttrium spark plug) or precious metal spark plugs (platinum, double platinum, iridium or double iridium) depending on the spark plugs fitted at the factory. We believe that Bosch cataloguing is now more transparent and customer friendly.

To make it easier to order the correct Bosch spark plug for a given vehicle, we have produced this step-by-step guide to optimise the settings in MAM.

Bosch cataloguing contains three numbers: 10 digit part numbers: e.g 0242 229 654 Short code: e.g +9 Type formula/ trade number: e.g FR91X

Each AutoCat user can choose to display either Bosch 10 digit numbers or a short code (+9 and FR91X).

Please follow these steps to change settings in AutoCat:

1. Select the button in the left bottom corner as highlighted in red below.

2. Select ‘Supplier Preferences’ from the main AutoCat V8 screen.

5. Then select ‘Plugs (Glow & Spark Plugs)’ from the ‘Sub Group’ drop down box.

7. Depending on which product ranges you want, you will need to change: either the ’X’ shown in the ‘Pref’ column to a ‘1’ to allow the relevant catalogue section/s you want to display in AutoCat or change the ‘1’ shown in the ‘Pref’ column to a ‘X’ to disable the catalogue sections you don’t want to appear.

9. Now select ‘Quit’ to return to the main AutoCat screen.

6. Select the ‘Display/2’ button to display a list of all catalogue sections containing ‘Plugs (Glow & Spark Plugs)’ on AutoCat. Please look down the list to find Bosch case you want to set your preferences up with.

8. When finished setting your preferences, please select the ‘Update/3’ button.

Bosch spark plugs are listed on Autocat within two separate catalogues:

3. Enter your password, or, if you have not chosen your own one, enter the standard default one which is ‘mam’ then, please select the ‘OK/4’ button. If ‘mam’ is not correct for your installation, then please contact [email protected]

4. First, select ‘Service parts’ from the ‘Product Group’ drop down box.
