OIL & GAS

As displacement pumps, Bornemanntwin screw pumps are ideal for pumpingmixtures of crude oil, gas, water and thefinest solids. They can be used onshore,offshore and subsea. The dry runningcapability also allows the presence ofgases. The compact construction and thespecial profile of the feed screws allowhigh conveying pressures for operationin pipelines with long distances.

Multiphase Boosting Technology

The core of the Multiphase BoostingSystems is formed by the twin screwpumps. The two engineered rotor setswork with no metal-to-metal contact.They deliver a close to constant capacityagainst the downstream backpressure.The pressure is not dependent on thespeed of the pump and the characteris-tics of the fluid being transferred. Fluidmixtures of up to 97% gas content, 100%on short term basis, may be pumped without overheating the machine. Thenecessary liquid is stored in the enlargedhousing and partly recirculated to theinlet, assuring an equal distribution ofthe heat and heat transfer to the ambience. Sudden changes from high

Bornemann screw spindle pumps haveproven their value internationally as loading pumps on tankers, transferpumps for heavy-duty HFO qualities andas lubricating pumps for supplying themain engine. Bornemann progressivecavity pumps are used as sludge pumps,bilge pumps, as pumps to feed oilextractors, and as residue pumps.

TANK TERMINALS

Bornemann has a large worldwide instal-led base of pumps in tank terminals.They can be used wherever a large suc-tion capacity is required. BornemannPumps can be found for loading andunloading of ships, tank wagons, tankertrucks as well as storage tanks and pipe-lines everyday of the year. They performthese duties under challenging condi-tions including high viscosities and pressures.

PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY/REFINERY

Bornemann twin screw pumps are theideal solution for transfer within termi-nals where both low and high viscosityproducts have to be moved or metered.All fluids whether neutral, alkaline oracid and aggressive, abrasive or gaseousare sucked up safely,dosed and pumped.

Bornemann twin screw pumps and pro-gressive cavity pumps solve a variety ofconveyance challenges in a range ofindustries including chemicals, powergeneration, wastewater and environ-mental technology, and construction.Regardless of low or high viscosity, oraggressive, solid or shear-sensitivematerials – there is an appropriate pumpfor nearly every application. FOOD & PHARMA

The twin screw pump SLH has been especially developed for the applicationin the Food and PharmaceuticalIndustry. The 2-in-1 principle conveysand cleans in one pump. Due to the widerange of pump speeds – up to a maxi-mum of 3,600 rpm, process cycles as wellas CIP and SIP procedures are possiblewith just one pump.

Nearly 80 pumps in operation

Bornemann twin screw pumps are rotat-ing displacement pumps; the gear-wheels and roller bearings are outsidethe pump space. Around 80 models areavailable. Various materials, sizes andforms make application-optimised solu-tions possible.

Bornemann pumps cover a wide range ofperformance in the pressure, conveyedvolume, temperature and viscosity of theconveyed media. Nearly all media can beconveyed, i.e. thin liquids such aspetrol, hydrocarbons, seawater, liquidswith high viscosity such as bitumen, tar,glue, molasses, and aggressive mediasuch as acids and bases.

Progressive cavity pumps are used toconvey a wide range of media, in par-ticular highly viscous and abrasive mate-rials such as slurry, liquid manure, crudeoil and greases. They are available invarious power ratings and combinationsof materials.

They have proved their value world-widein public and industrial waste watertreatment and in waste disposal. Theyare an optimum solution to conveyingtasks in the chemical and petrochemicalindustries, the food, cosmetics andpaper industries, in building construc-tion, mining and general industry –everywhere the conveyed product is tooviscous and flows too poorly to be pumped by other types of pumps.
