Boris and Sid are going on holiday. They are going camping.

So exciting!

Wow! What a campsite. “There is sea and sand and rocks to climb,” cries Boris.

“And there is no-one here except us!” says Sid. They are so happy.

But that night it rains. It pours. It hails.

The water comes down in buckets!

Boris loves the dinosaurs in the museum. Sid loves the fossils. So they are both very

interested in the skeletons. They are both happy all morning.

When they come out of the museum it is still raining!

Then they look at clothes.Finally they look at furniture.

They go back to the tent feeling very sad.

“Shall we go to the café for our tea?” suggests Boris. “Then we won’t get any

wetter.” “No Boris,” says Sid sadly. “We have run out of money. We will have to cook our

own tea here.”

It takes ages to get the stove to light. The sausages get all watery. The beans are very runny.

There is nowhere to stay dry.

“Let’s go to bed,” suggests Boris.“Yep, ok,” says Sid.

Boris and Sid get into their sleeping bags. “My sleeping bag is wet!” cries Boris.

“So is mine!” cries Sid. “There is water coming into our tent!”

Boris points to a stream of water on the tent floor.

“And it is dripping from the roof!” Sid shows Boris.

shouts Sid. “I wanted to go and stay with Granny!”

“No you didn’t!” Boris is furious. “This was all your idea!”

“IT WAS NOT!” shouts Sid.

The tent poles creak.The tent sways.

Then one end collapses on Boris and Sid, covering them in wet canvas!

It takes Boris and Sid AGES to get the tent back up.

They are both extremely cold and wet and tired when they crawl into their damp sleeping bags

later that night. They do not sleep very well.
