bordbar – seit 2006 steht dieser Name für die
Umgestaltung authentischer Flugzeugtrolleys in
zeitlose Designobjekte. Wir waren die ersten mit
der Idee, Trolleys für den Alltag außerhalb von
Flugzeugen aufzubereiten. Und daher haben wir
nicht nur die meiste Erfahrung am Markt, sondern
beweisen mit vielen Neuentwicklungen fortwährenden
Erfindergeist. Die Form bleibt dabei auf das absolut
Wesentliche reduziert: pure Funktion. Auf engstem
Raum. In unverwüstlicher Verarbeitung. Auf dieser
Basis entstehen in unserer Manufaktur in Köln durch
aufwendige Handarbeit echte Einzelstücke, die mit
funktionellem Design, technischer Perfektion und
stimmigen Proportionen beeindrucken. Unsere Kunden
sind insbesondere Liebhaber einzigartigen Designs.
Aber auch große Unternehmen nutzen die Trolleys für
Messen, Promotion und Marketing, denn als wahre
Raumwunder auf Rädern vereinen sie geschickt das
Praktische mit dem Unverwechselbaren.

bordbar – the name has been synonymous with the
transformation of authentic airplane trolleys into
timeless design objects for private use since 2006.
We came up first with the idea to fix up trolleys for
every-day use outside of an airplane. We not only
have the most experience on the market but we also
keep proving ourselves by continually developing
new models and innovative equipment. The shape
itself is reduced to its essence: pure functionality.
The workmanship is indestructible. This is the basis
for our manufacture in Cologne, where really unique
pieces are painstakingly hand-crafted. Their functional
design, technical perfection and harmonious propor–
tions will convince just about anyone. Our customers
are lovers of individual and unique designs. But large
companies also like using our trolleys for trade fairs,
promotional and marketing purposes because they
elegantly combine many practical features with
inimitable and memorable design.
As a German manufacture bordbar has a healthy “let's

Die Wurzeln von bordbar liegen in der elementaren Leidenschaft, alte
Möbel in einem neuen Kontext einzusetzen. Am Anfang waren es noch
ausgemusterte Kinosessel und Spindschränke aus Blech. Irgendwann
waren darunter auch einige Flugzeugtrolleys. Die Idee, dieses ausrangierte
Industrieprodukt in ein Designermöbelstück zu verwandeln, schlug sofort
ein. So gut, dass 2006 der Weg in die Selbständigkeit gewagt wurde –
mit 287 gebrauchten Flugzeugtrolleys. In wenigen Jahren hat sich bordbar
vom Einmannbetrieb zum Global Player entwickelt.
Die Leidenschaft für jedes einzelne Element wird durch die mittlerweile
weltweiten Aktivitäten immer wieder neu entfacht. In der hauseigenen
Designschmiede tüfteln wir an Entwürfen, um der individuellen Kultur
im Wohnbereich, in der Küche, im Badezimmer, im Büro oder Outdoor
Ausdruck verleihen. Konsequent und visionär entwickeln wir den gestal–
terischen und funktionalen Anspruch an unsere Produkte weiter. Ein
Garant für stets durchdachtes und exklusives Design. Meinen auch

bordbar is rooted in a deep passion for using old furniture in different
contexts. It all started out with old cinema seats and steel lockers. After
a while some airplane trolleys made their way into the mix. The idea to
transform this discarded industry product into a piece of design furniture
was more than well received. So well received, actually, that it lead to
founding the business in 2006 with the modest number of 287 trolleys.
From a small Me Inc. it took bordbar only a couple of years to grow into
a global player.
Our passion for each and every element is reignited with every new
step we take in our now world-spanning business. The designs are
predominantly created in the in-house design office. They are an
expression of individual culture in private living quarters, the kitchen,
the bathroom, office and outdoor areas. We continually develop our
visions for design and functionality of our products and thereby
guarantee well thought-through and exclusive design. Experts agree:
sought-after design awards such as the red dot Design Award, Interior
Innovation Award, Designpreis Deutschland and even the most established
design award of the world – Good Design are a testament to bordbar’s

Die Ju52, liebevoll auch „Tante Ju“ genannt,
war seinerzeit eines der erfolgreichsten Flug-
zeuge der Welt und prägte die zivile Luftfahrt
wie kaum ein anderes. Wellblech, rechteckiger
Fensterausschnitt sowie der originale Farbton
sind die charakteristischen Stilmerkmale der
bordbar Ju52. Der Schriftzug D-AQUI ist die
Kennung der heute noch fliegenden Lufthansa
Ju52. Als Basis wird ein Trolley der bordbar
used edition verwendet, der nach der Ver-
wandlung komplett lackiert wird.
