    Before materials are ordered, measurements are to be taken on site and take-off's are to be done in accordance with approved working drawings.

    ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

    1.0 De-energize, disconnect and remove all electrical and ELV redundant switchgear, conduit, wiring and cables from the new MHAS Offices and from the electrical switchroom. Existing switchgear supplying the various departments and floors of Evans building are to remain. Servicable items are to be handed over to the Project Manager and unservicable items are to be carted away.

    The redundant switchgear in the electrical switchroom includes 3 distribution boards (marked Electoral Office) and 4 switches. All services are to be removed and shifted where the door to the switchroom is to be opened.The price is to include circuit tracing and all co-ordination and attendance with Enemalta staff when the suspension of electrical supply is required from Enemalta. 1

    2.0 Supply, install and connect a 400 Amp Main Panelboard MPB as specified including the devices shown in the distribution board schedules, electronic metering unit, 2 electronic sub-meters, current transformers and voltage tap-offs with protection fuses. The panelboard has to enter and fit in the space available.

    3.0 Supply and install in the main switchroom in the basement, one set of 4 pole, electrically and mechanically interlocked, automatic motorized change-over switches CO1, as specified, rated minimum 160 Amps, for operation with a standby generator.

    4.0 Supply and install galvanized steel cable tray for power multicore cables complete with fittings and supports.

    5.0 De-energize, disconnect and remove the main switch and cables of the Enemalta metering cubicle marked "Evans". The price is to include all co-ordination and attendance with Enemalta staff when the suspension of electrical supply is required from Enemalta to remove the main switch and connect panelboard MPB.

    6.0 Supply, install and connect from the Enemalta metering cubicle marked "Evans" to the Main Panelboard MPB, 5 x 1 core x 150 sqmm, copper conductor, XLPE insulated, PVC sheathed single core cables.

    The single cores are not to pass through steel gland plates in order to avoid Eddy Currents. (Aluminium gland plates can be used).The length shown in metres is the route lenght consisting of 5 single cores, total length 35 metres. 7 m

    7.0 Supply, install and connect on cable tray the following copper conductor, XLPE insulated, PVC sheathed cables including terminations, cable glands, cable ties but excluding the cable tray:

    7.1 From the Main Panelboard MPB to the existing mccb of the first floor in the switchroom, 5 core x 70 sqmm XLPE/PVC. 7 m

    8.0 Supply, install and connect the following metalclad distribution boards with hinged lockable door and all the devices as specified in the distribution board schedules:

    8.1 DB1 in the switchroom, complete with the specified surge protective device. 1 no.

    8.2 DB5 in the switchroom. 1 no.8.3 DB-U1 in the IT room. 1 no.

    9.0 Supply, install and connect the following isolators, lockable in the OFF position:

    9.1 63A, 4 pole, IP65 isolator for outdoor unit of VRF system. 2 no.

    9.2 32A, 2 pole, IP65 isolator for outdoor unit of A/C split unit of IT Room. 2 no.

    10.0 Supply and install 180mm high x 60mm deep (minimum dimensions), 2 compartment, CAT 6, UPVC power and data skirting trunking and fittings as specified including trunking covers, steel screening divider between the power and ELV compartments, external and internal corners, joint covers, tees, flat angles, cable retainers and end caps.The trunking and the fittings shall be used for 230 Volt, 50 Hz power and UTP network cables, shall be supplied from the same manufacturer and no site fabrication of fittings shall be accepted.The steel EMI screening divider shall be bonded to earth and shall be electrically continuous throughout the whole length of trunking by means of earth straps supplied by the manufacturer of the trunking and by protective conductor (earth) links.The power and data outlets shall be fixed in an upper compartment so that 13Amp plugs with moulded cord can fit without hitting the floor. 357 m

    11.0 Supply and install 50 mm diameter PVC pipe and fittings to link the DATA (UTP) trunking compartment across doors including the floor chasing. Long sweep bends in the pipework shall be done to avoid sharp bends.(One pipe cross per door) 60 m

    12.0 Supply and install 25 mm diameter galvanized steel conduit and fittings to link the POWER trunking compartment across doors including the chasing and conduit gland terminations. (One conduit cross per door)The earth continuity of the steel screen divider of the trunking is to be maintained by protective conductor (earth) cable links. 60 m

    13.0 Supply and install 75mm x 75mm galvanized steel trunking for 400/230 Volt wiring including fittings and supports. 125 m

    DATA NETWORK INSTALLATION (To MITA Standards)

    26.0 Supply and install above false ceiling a heavy duty electrozinc cable basket complete with fittings and supports to be used for the ICT cables (UTP, fibre optic and telephone cables).

    27.0 Supply and install 50mm diameter PVC pipe and fittings (chased in the wall or in partition, as applicable in accordance with the drawings) for the UTP cables from the cable basket to the skirting trunking, including wall chases.Long sweep bends are to be used instead of 90 degree bends.
