Newsletter Term 4 Week 3 2016

CSIRO Scientists in Schools Program

Our 4/5/6 class is still needing donations of chicken,

turkey, horse and cow poo as well as mulching hay for

our science studies.

If you are able to help please contact the office and we

can arrange collection.

Kinder Orientation

Our Kinder Orientation will be held on Monday 31st

October until Wednesday 2nd November 2016.

Kindergarten students for 2017 will be spending time at

school from 9:30am till 11am each day.

A parent information session will be on Wednesday 2nd

November 2016 at 10:30am until 11:30am.

Halloween Disco

On Friday 28th October our SRC will be hosting a

disco. The theme for this disco is Halloween. The

disco will run from 5:30pm till 7:30pm.

A canteen run by our SRC will be selling some treats

on the night. The P&C will have a hotdog for each

child who attends.

Money raised from this disco will be sent to

Stewart House to support the work they do for our

students.

Important Information

Market, Outdoor Movie and Pavers

On Saturday 5th November 2016 our P&C will be

holding a twilight community market beginning at

5:30pm. There will also be a showing of the movie,

Zootopia, beginning at approximately 7:45pm at a

cost of $10 per family.

At 6:30pm we will be officially unveiling our

sesquicentenary pavers.

Public Speaking Finals

Public Speaking finals for K-3 will be held on Friday

28th October 2016. Years 4-6 Public Speaking final

will be held on Friday 4th November. Both finals

will start at 10:15am.

Parents and Carers are invited to attend.

Selective High Schools for 2018

Any parents wanting to apply for their child to

attend a selective high school must contact our

school office for information by Monday 7th

November 2016 for information.

Wetlands Excursion

Our K/1 and 2/3 class are having an excursion to

the Wetlands on Monday 7th November 2016, as a

part of their science studies. Permission notes have

already been sent home. Notes and money are due

back by Friday , 4th November.

High School Orientation Days

All high schools will be holding their Orientation

Days on Tuesday 6th December 2016. Parents must

arrange travel for their own child to this day.

Swim and Survive Program

Once again this year our hard working P&C will be

funding the bus for our Swim and Survive program.

This is a total cost of over $2000.

This will mean that the program will be FREE for all

our students.

Swim and Survive program will run in Weeks 9 and

10 of this term.

Presentation Night

Our end of year Presentation Night will be on

Monday 12th December 2016. The evening will

begin at 5:30pm.

Tent Pegs

If you have any tent pegs that are no

longer needed, our chickens would

greatly appreciate them to peg down

the boundary of their yard and

prevent unwanted visitors.

I need a whole stack of them to make

lemonade for the movie night. People

can just leave them at the office for

me.

P & C News

P & C AGM

All our committee positions will become vacant at our

AGM on 6th December at 6.30pm. Positions will be

available for President, Secretary, Treasurer, Canteen

Supervisor, Uniform Coordinator & Band Coordinator.

One of our committee will definitely not be returning

next year as their daughter will be moving onto High

School so please consider joining our great committee

& helping out the school.

Kindy Orientation Morning Tea

P & C are hosting the Morning Tea for the new Kindy

2017 parents next Wednesday, 2nd November. We are

asking for donations of plates of food for the Morning

Tea & helpers to setup. If you are able to help us out on

the day please meet at school at 9am. Food donations

can be sent into school on that day. Thank you.

Twilight Market & Outdoor Movie Night

Please come along on Saturday 5th November to our

Twilight Markets & Outdoor Movie Night. The Markets

start from 5.30pm with the movie, Zootopia starting

from approx. 7.45pm.

There will be some fabulous lucky door prizes & plenty

of food, drinks & snacks available.

Tickets are an amazing $10.00 for a family comprising

of 2 adults & all children in the same household as the

parents. This is great value.

Tickets can be purchased at the school, Ma Baker

Booral, Hair @ Booral, Stroud Hardware & Produce, R

& R Realty & Stroud Butchery.

The movie will be shown on a large screen to be set up

in the school grounds. Come along & bring your picnic

blanket & watch a movie under the stars.

We are also asking for some help on the night. We

require some people to do a few jobs, nothing too

hard & you can work in pairs. A few jobs available

on the night will be setting up, manning the gate,

selling lollies, selling raffle tickets & cleaning up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please
