Hi!

If you are reading this booklet, it means you are interested in one of our AIESEC internships in Bielsko-Biala.

It's a great choice! Friendly people who work hard (while enjoying what they do) and play hard (even harder than they work) are the basis of any good internship-and you won’t find any gloomy slackers here! So, let me invite you for a short, spiritual trip to Bielsko-Biała, and to Poland in general!

Poland

Situated in central Europe, next to the Baltic Sea. Borders with: Germany Czech Republic Slovakia Ukraine Belarus Lithuania and a tiny enclave of Russia Poland is populated by over 38 million people, which makes it the 6th most populated country in Europe.

Climate

“Continental” or “Transitional”. What it really means is that it’s.. tricky. For instance, Polish autumn could look like that:

In the summer the temperature averages between 17 to 25 centigrade. It can be misleading, because one year it can be above 30 centigrade each and every day, and the next year it can be cool and raining every two, three days. In winter the temperature averages between -10 and 5 centigrade. Again, one year it can be -2 and no snow, the next year you can’t see your car under all that white stuff.

Or like that:

What is important is that you should come prepared for all kinds of weather. Even in the summer don’t forget to take some warmer clothes, and in winter bring along some gloves, a wool hat and preferably a scarf. Maybe you won’t have to use them, but as they say- “better safe than sorry”.

Bielsko-Biała is sometimes named a “small Vienna”, because of the Viennese style of architecture, stylish tenements and historical buildings.
