Presenting BOOGI, the new way to move in the city

In partnership with the greater City of Bordeaux (Bordeaux Métropole) and with the public transport operator (TBC – Keolis Group), we have started to launch BOOGI in Bordeaux as of mid-May 2016. The focus is put on developing the usage in the P+R (car parks connected to public transport).

Other partners (banks, local newspaper,…) support the project and provide communication and incentives for the users.

A massive communication plan is scheduled in September when we will roll out in the entire Bordeaux Area (750,000 inhabitants).

There is also a first agreement with big local employers to provide their 4,500 employees with the application.

With the support of EIT Digital and in collaboration with Thalès Portugal, we propose to make a live experimentation of BOOGI in Lisboa before the end of 2016.

Building on the experience of project Connecting Digital Cities in Lisboa in 2015 (http://www.connecting-digital-cities.eu) and the launch of BOOGI in Bordeaux and Nice in S1 2016, the project could be started on a smaller scale and rolled out in the entire city in 2017.

It would position Lisboa amongst the most innovative metropoles in Europe and, if succesful, could bring long term strong benefits on the level of congestion (Lisbon is ranked 31 out of 142 on the Tom Tom Index)
