THE ROAD LEADING TO THE PARKNot a long drive from the Rangaer Station to the park area. Blacktop road and a lot of trees.

VIEW OF THE LAKE FROM THE PARKING AREAThis was my first view after parking. Ranger station to the left and the beach area to the right.

BONHAM LAKE AND BEACH AREASmall beach area with playground and volleyball court. Pavilion area for picnics and group gatherings. Well maintained and very clean

FISHING PIERSmall fishing pier, but in good shape. Bass and catfish are predominate. The water level, it being late August, was a bit low. In addition to fishing from the pier you can fish from the shore with good access almost all around the lake.

LAKE LOOP ROADThe main, and only, park road loops around the lake. Most of the trails cross it or begin from it. This is the view on the way to start the “Lake Loop Trail”.

THE FIRST TRAIL OF THE DAYTrailhead for the Lake Loop Trail. The signage shows that it is for bicycles but all of the trails are multi-use. All in all there are about 11 miles of marked and maintained trails. This one is about 3 miles around the lake.

DUCK BLIND ON THE TRAILI’m not sure whether this is active or not, presumably not, since there are no firearms allowed in the park and no hunting.

VIEWS FROM THE TRAILSpeckled with sunlight, some nice lake views and a few interesting spider webs.

LAKE VIEWS FROM THE TRAILFrom time to time the trails give you access to some nice lake views.

A FRIEND I MET ON THE TRAILOther than a few birds and a lone hawk this was the only “wildlife” I saw.

SOME ADDITIONAL TRAILSAll the trails were very well marked and only a few had any slope to them.

BOATERS AND BIKERS Motors are not allowed on the lake so kayaks are popular.

JUST A PICTURE PERFECT DAYIt was a great day to be outside. Temperatures started in the low 70’s and got up to the mid 80’s. Lots of sunshine and a nice gentle north breeze.
