Principal's News T4W6Gold Awards

Congratulations to the Gold Award recipients from Kindergarten to Year 6. These students received their gold award for their resilience, outstanding contributions in the classroom, upholding the school values and being an outstanding school citizen. Well done to all.

Lost Property

The lost property is piling up again. Items can be found outside the hall and on the cabana verandah. Please check with your child if they have their belongings each day.

Playground

Recently we held a meeting to plan for some upgrades to our play areas. Discussions with parent representatives, staff and students allows us to plan with input from all users. We hope to start making some changes in the next few months.

Monday Morning MeetingOn Monday morning Glen Timbery, a local artist, and Nicola Dare, the owner and director of Aboriginal Contemporary art gallery, will be visiting our school.

Glen has crafted beautiful clap sticks for each class and these will be presented to the students. To mark this occasion will be holding a special assembly in the Quad.

The assembly will start at 10.15am and we are inviting all members of our



school community to join us.

We hope to see you there so you can be part of this special presentation.

Public Speaking NewsLast Wednesday Abigail (3S) represented not only BBPS, but the entire Bondi Network of schools at the grand final for public speaking. She did an outstanding job presenting her speech on the Australian national anthem.

On Wednesday the 14th of November I went to the grand final public speaking competition at St Peters Public School. I did my best on my prepared speech and I think I did really well.

I was a bit nervous at the start but after I presented my speech it felt really good. Then it was time for the impromptu the topic was Volunteering. I was really nervous but excited at the same time. After the competition I went to go and sit with Ms Stamell and my mum and they made me feel proud of myself. I was so happy they were there to watch me and I was so glad I was able to have the opportunity to go there.

Our Band Evening concert will be held on the 16th Dec at 6:30pm.

Junior and Senior Band will be showcasing their talents. A few special items will also be included in the program.

Beeswax WrapsThis week, Year 4 were busy making their own reusable beeswax wraps in line with our procedure writing focus in English. They turned out fantastic and some students have already been using them to wrap their lunch items in. A special thanks to all the students who brought in fabric, beeswax and supplied extra resources for others. It was a fun day and a great team effort by all.
