B OLLES ACHIEVEMENTS AT A GLANCE • Bolles graduates matriculate to the top-ranked colleges and universities in the country. • Bolles graduates consistently place in the top 10% of Advanced Placement scores achieved throughout the country. • Since 2007, 44 Bolles students have been named National Merit Finalists with 17 of those students earning National Merit Scholarships for their success on the PSAT. • Bolles’ athletic program has received the FHSAA All-Sports Award for 20 of the last 21 years. • Bolles teams have claimed 116 state titles and 84 state runner-up finishes in 17 different sports. • 85% of students participate in over 100 performances and gallery openings within the Fine and Performing Arts Department each year. • 50 Sports Teams at the middle, JV and varsity levels — the student body regularly approaches or exceeds 90% participation in one or more sport. • 85 Clubs and Activities offered in upper and middle school. • Bolles students are actively involved in the local community and host or provide countless community service hours and events each year. CLASS OF 2015 ACHIEVEMENTS CAMPUS ENHANCEMENTS •Upper School San Jose Campus: Commencement Pointe flag pavilion added on the River Campus; Verlander Hall and kitchen restructured for lower school diners; River Patio and outdoor kitchen added; Canteen seating improved; Bolles Hall roof replaced; Hodges Field turf replaced. •Middle School Bartram Campus: Improvements made to dining hall; Gertie the Turtle receives new habitat. •Lower School Whitehurst Campus: Construction of new Grade 5 classroom building overlooking St. Johns River completed. •Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus: New kitchen and dining facilities completed in Ponte Vedra Hall, providing in-house dining service opportunities; 39-foot mural by Dan Fenelon installed. • Established in 1933. • Enrollment of approximately 1,700 co-ed students in grades PreK-12 on four campuses. • Bolles offers courses in five languages and 22 Advanced Placement Courses. • Bolles offers exchange programs with schools in Spain, Japan, China, and France, and one study abroad program in Spain. • Of Bolles’ faculty members, 10 hold Doctoral degrees and 91 hold Masters degrees. • Fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Southern Association of Independent Schools, Florida Council for Independent Schools and Florida Kindergarten Council. • Memberships in the National Association of Independent Schools, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, and the Florida High School Athletic Association, among others. • The School is recognized locally by the Jacksonville Historical Society and the City of Jacksonville and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. ATHLETICS

ARTS

• Bolles students participated in more than 100 performances, exhibits, guest artists and gallery openings within the Fine and Performing Arts Department and Parent Association.

• Lauren Bishop ’15 was one of eight Northeast Florida art students to win national recognition in the 2015 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, earning a Silver medal.

• Middle and upper school dancers established a volunteer group called “Dancing With Hope,” which performs at local hospitals, retirement communities and physical therapy centers.

• This year’s middle school musical was “Once On This Island;” This year’s upper school play was “Revenge of the Space Pandas.”

• Bolles Choral Director Rachel Clifton served as pianist for the recording of a new work by world renowned composer, Robert W. Smith.

• Aaron Abel ’16, a member of the Bolles Men’s Chorus and talented pianist, was one of several musicians featured in a new CD project of original music featuring Jewish artist contributors from the U.S. and Israel.

• Bolles’ athletic program tallied 4 team state titles, 4 runner-up state finishes, 13 individual event state titles, 8 region titles, 11 district titles and 8 middle school conference titles. Bolles has now won 116 state championships in 17 different sports.

• Bolles won the FHSAA All-Sports Award for the 20th time in the last 21 years.

• A total of 40 members of the Class of 2015 committed to continue their athletic careers in college.

• Bolles earned 54 All-First Coast honors in the fall and 14 in the winter, totaling 91 All-First Coast Team honors for the 2014-15 school year.

• Football Head Coach Corky Rogers was selected to the 2015 class of the National High School Hall of Fame, the first football coach in Florida to earn the honor.

• Matt Tracy was named the Florida Dairy Farmers 2015 Girls’ Soccer Coach of the Year for all classifications. Leah Ferlin ’17 was named the Class 2A Girls’ Soccer Player of the Year and Tony Ryan was named Class 2A Girls’ Cross Country Coach of the Year.

ACADEMICS

• Students from the Class of 2015, 76% of the class, were offered or qualified for over $3.1 million in merit-based scholarships for their first year of college, amounting to nearly $12.5 million over the course of their four-year college careers. 61% of the Class of 2015 residing in Florida qualified for Florida Bright Futures Scholarships.

• The 197 graduates were accepted to 185 different colleges and universities and will be attending 90 different colleges, universities and military academy prep schools.

• 195 of the 197 graduates are going directly to college with one student taking a post-graduate year and two students taking a gap year.

• 12 Bolles students earned National Merit Scholarships, 5 were named Finalists, 5 were named Semifinalists and an additional 7 students were recognized as Commended Students.

• A total of 44 Bolles students earned AP Scholar designations for achieving high standards on the 2014 AP Tests. 25 students were named AP Scholars with Honors (avg. score of 3.25 or higher), 40 students were named AP Scholars with Distinction (3.5), and three Bolles students attained the National AP Scholar designation (4.0).

• Carlton Higby ’15 was awarded the University of Virginia’s Jefferson Scholarship — one of the most highly selective merit scholarships in the region.

• 3 Bolles students — John Norcross ’16, Alex Pogrebniak ’16 and Graham Ungrady ’16 were selected for the 2015-16 Youth Leadership Jacksonville.

• Hannah Lee ’18 earned a bronze medal at the competitive ISWEEEP science fair competition in Houston — one of only two students in Bolles history to medal at the show.

• Faculty member Cormac O’Riordan, a 19-year Bolles social studies teacher, was one of four teachers in Northeast Florida to receive the 2015 Gladys Prior Award for Career Teaching Excellence.
