October 28, 2014 RE: Drew Carter To Whom It May Concern: I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Drew Carter for over 25 years. Drew was a player on my JV football team here at Willamette High School. Later I began to mentor Drew when he began his coaching career – first with young middle school teams and later at the high school level. In fact my son had the good fortune to play football on a Drew Carter coached team, and still talks fondly about the experience he had over 15 years ago. Drew is ‘kid friendly’ and immediately connects with his players. His football IQ is outstanding. He not only is a student of the game, but has coached in many systems including the Sheldon High School system, which has a reputation of being outstanding on the football field. Drew’s resume includes many experiences as a high school football coach. Several as the Head Coach and others as an assistant. I consider Drew’s Coaching and Professional resume to be very positive. He’s been able to learn valuable lessons at every stop. He’s been able to work with all types of personalities, communities and in some cases, unique situations. Each step of the way has taught Drew some lessons – some tougher than others. I know he’s a better man; a better coach and a better employee because of these experiences. Drew has gained wisdom, patience and insight into the big picture of high school athletics, and especially as it relates to directing a football program. Finally, Drew Carter is a man of integrity and passion. He is deeply committed to his family and his profession of educating our youth. Although Drew is very competitive and loves to see his teams do well, his real goal is to help his student-athletes reach their potential both on and off the field as well as within their community.
