On October 14, 2013, Cherry Creek added a unique banking experience. Sunflower Bank opened the doors at the new branch located at 278 University Blvd., in Denver to a crisp, autumn air. Nine weeks later, the doors of another Sunflower Bank branch opened. This time, the doors were 40 miles north of Denver, and the air had the fresh, frost-like quality that greets us around the holiday season. Located at 25 E. Ken Pratt Blvd., in Longmont, Sunflower Bank began serving the charming city on December 16, 2013. The Denver and Longmont locations join the bank’s other Colorado locations in Cañon City, Greenwood Village, Monte Vista and Pueblo. “We are proud and pleased to be expanding our Colorado presence into Denver and Longmont,” said Mollie Carter, president and CEO. “Sunflower looks for communities and teams of local bankers that respond well to our style of community banking. initiative is a public art initiative that features

concrete sculptures of eagles decorated by local artists and distributed throughout the community in public places. Sunflower Bank was the first to purchase the concrete eagle statue. it was designed and painted by Kaitlyn robl, Sunflower Bank employee in ellinwood, and her sister Jennifer robl. the eagles feature artwork and designs that pertain to local culture. what did the robl sisters choose for their theme? contained marketing collateral that featured a fake mustache contest. the marketing depart-ment forgot that the branches give 100% to everything that they do – customer service, serving the community and having fun!

Manhattanmanhattan employees took it one step further and had a real mustache contest. the contest was held at triangle Park in manhattan. the public was able to vote on their favorite mustache with non-perishable food items, and the event raised over 250 pounds of food for the Flint Hills Breadbasket!

Hoover opera House. as always, the holiday luncheon was enjoyed by all in attendance at the geary County Convention Center.

throughout the winter – some-times too much! as the salt supply decreased this winter, the leeton staff’s ingenuity increased. wood ashes – which

have a surprisingly high salt content and offer easy clean up – were used to melt the ice. Since the leeton branch lacks a fireplace, the dedicated leeton employees transported their own ash to the branch to ensure customer safety.

LEETONin September, leeton’s First ladies toured the ravenswood mansion in Bunceton, mo and jour-neyed on to Boonville, mo. there, they visited warm Springs ranch, home of the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. in december, the holiday party included a catered barbe-cue lunch and an ornament exchange.

OSBORNEthe holiday dinner was held at St. aloysius Parish Center and featured fine vocals from women of grace, a quar-tet from grace Brethren Church in Portis.

PUEBLOPueblo’s rich history came to life as the ladies toured the historic arkansas river on an amazing boat ride, followed by a delectable lunch at rio Bistro. the holiday luncheon was held at elmwood golf Course and featured the chorus from Pueblo South High School that gave a breathtaking a cappella performance.

SALINAin october, Salina’s First ladies visited new york and enjoyed the shop-ping, exquisite dining and the Broadway shows. Salina’s First ladies enjoyed their holi-day luncheon, held annually at Salina Country Club.
