Issue 2 Volume 2 Bobcat News What is the PTSO?
The Parent Teacher Student
Organization is a volunteer
organization dedicated to
working together to enrich and
improve the educational
environment and experiences
at Hillsborough Academy of
Math & Science.
Why join the PTSO? The PTSO provides funding
for non-budgeted classroom
enhancements and expenses,
school clubs, staff
appreciation events,
community service events, and
family events. As a member
you will join a group of
dedicated parents, teachers,
and students committed to
supporting the educational
and social experience of all
Hillsborough Academy
students.
Cost Joining the PTSO costs $10 for
a family membership. 100% of
that money stays at the school
for the benefit of our students.
Why should you join Hillsborough Academy PTSO?
•Get Connected: There is no better way to find out what is happening in our school and connect with
other parents! •Make Your Voice Heard: Advocate for your students!
•Enhance Our School: Help raise funds for school enhancements!
•Right to Vote: You must be a member to vote on the PTSO budget and elect officers!
•It’s good for your child: Research shows that children of parents who are involved in their child’s
school get better grades.
Bobcat News is a weekly electronic communication be-
tween the school, PTSO and the parents.
In Bobcat News, you will find: Events happening at the
school, announcements, ways to be involved, pictures
