(a) MYL charges for rolling out fabric sent with less yardage without explanation.

4) Lining

a) Standard

1) MYL has a complete selection of Lining Fabric available (see Lining Fabric Program Section).

2) Lining option is Product specific.

4) MYL charges the same yardage as the product requires without repeat.

5) MYL requests that you do not send your own Lining unless it is contrast.

5) Interlining

a) Standard

1) MYL has a complete selection of Interlinings available (see Lining Fabric Program Section).

2) Some products have a code for Interlining which covers the additional labor only, not the cost of the Interlining Fabric.

3) The cost of the Interlining fabric is not included in the price of the product.

4) MYL charges the same yardage as the product requires without repeat.

5) MYL requests that you do not send your own Interlining.

2) All Rod Pocket Valances: the Heading and Pocket size must be specified.

3) Board Mounted Valances: must provide Board Return / Projection.

b) Variations

1) For products with Buckram/Crinoline: You may specify 3” or 5” Pleats (Buckram/Crinoline) at no extra charge.


1) Pleat heights of 6” or more require an additional charge*

2) Rod Pockets greater than 6” will be an additional charge*.

3) Headings Greater than 4” will be an additional Charge*.

8) Sides

a) See specific Product Pages.

9) Finish Length

a) Standard

1) Any Finished Length up to 24 inches may be specified and still be considered a valance.

(a) Some product styles have Finished Lengths of 36” to 50” as specified on Product Page.

(b) Workroom assumes that Header is included in Finished Length calculations.

1) When required, a Short Point must be specified otherwise the standard difference will be used.

12) Measuring

a) Standard

1) Overall Width for Valance = Face Width (Rod or Board) + Left Return + Right Return.

2) Face Width must clear any under treatments by a minimum of 4” in Width and 2” on the Return.

3) OB = Outside Mount.

4) IB = Inside Mount - MYL will make ½” deduction unless otherwise specified.

5) OFM = Outside Face Measurement.

6) IM = Inside Measure – Measurement from the inside of the Left Return to the inside of the Right Return.

(a) IM is used when you want to clear an existing treatment.

13) Fabric Charges

a) Additional Charges*

1) Velvet, Suede, Leather, Upholstery Weight & Plaid fabrics require an up-charge. Check additional charge pages.

14) Trim

a) Remember to specify the Trim Placement on your Order.

15) Band and Ruffle

a) Remember to specify Band and Ruffle Width and Placement on your Order.

16) Design Elements

a) If Valances are different lengths, tops of Valances will be the same.

17) Upgrades

a) Contrast Inserts on Box Pleated and Inverted Box Pleat items will be an additional charge*.

1) To figure Face Fabric, find the number of cuts on the chart on the product page and divide by two (2), round answer up

to whole number. That is the number of cuts you need for each fabric (the face & the contrast fabric).

18) Installation

a) Board to be centered on window.

b) Brackets to be mounted 7/8” below ceiling or top of the board.

c) Brackets to be mounted 4” in on each end and every 40” to 50”.

d) Board lays on top of angles.

e) Each bracket is screwed to the bottom of board.

f) Note: Angle brackets are not included in price.
