MESSAGE FROM CEO

This year, Blue Ridge Health is celebrating 55 years of providing quality health care that is accessible and affordable for all. This simple but powerful statement is the unwavering force that guides us as we strive to make our region a healthier place to live.

We live in an area where the need for care far outstrips any one organization’s ability to help. Every day I see or hear of a patient who has struggled to prioritize their health. When these folks decide it’s time to focus on their well-being, they should never be met with a closed door or a cost prohibitive bill.

That is why Blue Ridge Health stands firm in the belief that everyone in our community should have the opportunity to pursue a healthy life - regardless of any barrier to care they may be facing. At Blue Ridge Health we are fortunate to have a group of donors, community partners, providers, and staff who share these beliefs and the results are tangible.

So, what are some of the shared issues we are confronting? To name a few:

• The need for increased medical and behavioral health services in schools• A rise in opioid abuse and addiction • An increase in diabetes• Recruitment of necessary providers to this region• The ongoing need for affordable dental services in WNC

While Blue Ridge Health has accomplished a lot in 2017 and 2018, your help makes the difference. Your support gives hope to a pregnant mother who needs prenatal care. Your support gives a young women who spent years without dental care a reason to smile again. Your support provides treatment for a middle aged man addicted to pain opioids. And most importantly, your support gives our patients hope that today will be better than yesterday, and that tomorrow will be better still.

Thank you,Richard Hudspeth, MD

Planned giving is sometimes referred to as gift planning or legacy giving. It is a way to support the patients of Blue Ridge Health that enables you to be far more generous than you ever thought possible. Some planned gifts can provide you with life-long income. Other gift plans use estate and tax planning to provide for charity and heirs in ways that maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on your estate.

Jim Bryson did just that.

While the story of Mr. Bryson’s generosity is inspiring, the important message is that anyone can make a significant gift to Blue Ridge Health with a little planning.

MAKING A LASTING IMPACT

CREATE A HEALTHIER FUTURE. IT'S EASIER THAN YOU THINK.

Blue Ridge Health is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your gift is tax deductible. If you are interested in learning more about Blue Ridge Health, touring a facility, or exploring your planned giving opitions please reach out to:

“My father, Jim Bryson, loved to help others. He never forgot the poverty of his childhood or the hard work that rewarded him with the means to support charitable organizations. He volunteered wherever he could make a positive impact, and he wished to extend his efforts beyond his lifetime by bequeathing funds to charities which would

continue to make a difference in people’s lives. He was confident Blue Ridge Health would use his gift wisely.”
