CCNNA SOCIAL GROUPS One of the easiest ways to get know your neighbors is to participate in one of CCNNA’s many social activities. CCNNA offers the following groups so residents can meet other neighbors and just have fun!

HO! HO! HO! 13th ANNUAL SALVATION ARMY COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENT

December 9, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM CCNNA is a neighborhood that gives back to the greater Denver community. For 13 years, Cherry Creek neighbors have set aside the second Saturday morning in December, for the Salvation Army, coming together to sort food, toys, and clothing for holiday baskets to be distributed to families and individuals in need throughout the Denver area. We will be sorting at the Aurora Warehouse, located at 11701 East 33rd Ave. Directions: Head east on I-70 to Peoria St. (exit 281). Turn right on East 33rd Ave. The warehouse will be on the right (building with the red awning). Please sign up early at

www.ccnneighbors.com. The warehouse is cold, so wear warm clothing including gloves for sorting. This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to join with your neighbors in extending the holiday spirit.

If anyone is interested in starting a group, please contact Dick Cohen at [email protected] CCNNA website www.ccnneighbors.com for additional information on membership and groups.

SIP AND SAVOR BENEFIT A HUGE SUCCESSIt was a beautiful September evening and the Room and Board Furniture Store provided the perfect setting for “Sip and Savor”, a wine and food event and fund raiser, offered by CCNNA for its paid members. On September 7, approximately 140 people turned out for this social event, after expenses raising $3,553, which was divided between Urban Peak and the Ross Cherry Creek Branch of the Denver Public Library. Susan Thompson, Chair, and Dale Rudolph were a dynamic and tireless team, finding generous sponsors and an amazing venue. Please patronize the following businesses that sponsored this event and thank them for supporting our neighborhood association: Room and Board Furniture, The Vineyard Wine Shop, Vinue, Grind, Thirsty Lion, Brio, Milwaukee St. Tavern and Maggie & Molly’s Sweet Life.

YOU’RE GONNA LOVE IT, COME RAIN OR COME SHINE “Block Parties” aren’t original with CCNNA…but the concept has been expanded to a whole new level thanks to the First Annual Cook Street Multi-Block Party! Held on September 24, the Party in the 400 block of Cook was attended by over 80 CCN neighbors from the 200 block of Cook to 6th Avenue including guests and Board Members. Initially planned for this date with the expectation of perfect weather, the Party could not be hampered by an early season rain storm. Canopies and tents were quickly arranged and it turned out to be possibly the most successful “block party” ever held in the neighborhood. People are still talking about the amazing turnout!

And Cook Street lived up to its name! Neighbors brought all kinds of dishes including beef brisket, BBQ ribs, sloppy joes, butternut squash soup, salads, and homemade desserts!

And beverages poured, from Molson Coors products to wine and hot apple cider. Dressed for rain and with the 10 x 10 tents, guests actually said they loved being outside and getting to better know their neighbors by sharing all the good cheer.

Block Builders’ Parties are part of the Block Builder Program in Cherry Creek North. The organization will give $100.00 toward a party and help with information on traffic

blocking barriers for partying safely in the street. If your block doesn’t have a Block Builders Captain, contact Kristin Des Marais at ccnneighbors.com about the program.

SPECIAL INVITATIONS FOR CCNNA MEMBERS! Cherry-Pick your Neighborhood Member Events with New Special Group Outing—Museums, Music, and MoreBeginning in July of this year, CCNNA has organized monthly outings for members so neighbors can get to know each other while also enjoying exclusive tours and discounts. This year’s outings have included expert-led tours of Calder: Monumental at Denver Botanic Gardens, Vikings at Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Cherry Creek North Art District and the Dikeou Collection. November’s offering features specially-priced tickets for an evening with the Denver Philharmonic on Friday, November 17. December’s outing will treat members to a behind the scenes tour of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA). These outings are open only to CCNNA Members who are current with their dues. Learn more and register for member outings at ccnneighbors.com. We hope you’ll join us!

The Cherry Creek Theatre’s final production for 2017 is the hilarious play, Beau Jest. The movie version called it “A story about falling in love…with a little white lie.” Intrigued? Well you will be and Entertained with a capital “E” as well! Not so much romantic comedy as a comedy about falling in love, this play about a young Chicago teacher, her parents and her “beau” will have you hysterical over the lengths we go to please others and get Life right. Performances are Thursdays and Saturdays at 7pm, Sundays at 2 pm, and Sundays 12/3 and 12/10 at 7pm. Pluss Theater/Mizel Arts & Culture Center 350 S. Dahlia Street. cherrycreektheater.org. 303-800-6578
