• Report directly to your assigned area.• Breakfast is served from 8:15-8:30; it is

NOT an excuse to be tardy.• Late bus? Sign in at the main office & get

a pass to class.• Be seated in your class by 8:35 to avoid a

tardy.• DIRT begins at the beginning of Blocks 1 or

5. (E-readers can be used for books only!)

Proper behavior is expected of EVERY student at ALL times.

• No running or horseplay in the halls or locker area.• Be on time to class with ALL supplies.• When in the hall during a class a pass is needed.

( ex. agenda signed by teacher.)• Do not damage or vandalize the school or other

people’s property.• Cheating is not tolerated & will result in a

disciplinary consequence and a parent phone call.

These are not steps. We may start at any level depending on behavior. We will run a safe, respectful school at all times.

Dress CodeStudents should be dressed in such a way

as not to cause a disruption or distraction. • No hats worn inside the building.

• No clothing with inappropriate language or imagery to include: tobacco, alcohol drugs or gangs.

• No provocative or tattered clothing to include short shorts/skirts (no shorter than tips of fingers at your side), tank tops with thin straps, skin tight yoga pants, and/or visible undergarments.

Dress Code UpdatesAll students are expected to dress appropriately for a K-12

educational environment.Any clothing that interferes with or disrupts the educational environment is unacceptable. Clothing with language or images that are vulgar, lewd, discriminatory, or obscene, or clothing that promotes illegal or violent conduct, the unlawful use of weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or drug paraphernalia, or clothing that contains threats is prohibited.Clothing should fit, be neat and clean, and conform to standards of safety, good taste, and decency. Clothing that exposes cleavage, private parts, the midriff, or undergarments, or that is otherwise sexually provocative, is prohibited. Examples of prohibited clothing include, but are not limited to: sagging or low-cut pants, low-cut necklines that show cleavage, tube tops, halter tops, backless blouses or blouses with only ties in the back, studded belts, chain belts, clothing constructed of see-through materials, and head coverings unless required for religious or medical purposes.

More on Dress Code Updates Parents or guardians of students requiring

accommodation for religious beliefs, disabilities, or other good causes should contact the principal.

Students not complying with this code will be asked to cover the noncomplying clothing or change clothes. Repeated infractions will result in disciplinary action.

The principal of each school is authorized to develop and implement such regulations as are

necessary to meet the responsibilities of the school as stated herein.

ResourceResource is a class. Respect it as such!• If absent, see your teachers prior to resource

to check for missed work OR check their websites.

• Locker clean-out will NOT take place during resource unless under the supervision of your resource teacher.

• Bring your planner and all materials with you TO resource.

• Students are not permitted to leave resource in groups.

Cafeteria• Walk to & from the cafeteria and keep

hallway noise at a minimum.• When entering the cafeteria, find a table or

wait in one of the three service lines. • No table hopping. Table hopping will earn

you an assigned seat at lunch or lunch detention.

• Always raise your hand & ask permission to leave your table. (icecream, bathroom, etc.)

• Clean up after yourself and ask others at your table to do the same.

Cafeteria Continued…• Wait to be dismissed by an adult at

the end of lunch.• Keep volume at an acceptable, pleasant

level. Do not shout.• Come prepared to go to recess on

weather permitting days (You may not return to your locker for a jacket, etc.). Remember only certain games are permitted during recess.

• Report to class promptly upon return from the cafeteria. No bathroom or lockers after lunch on A-days.)

• All bus rules apply.• Remain seated at all times.• No food on the bus. • If you are doing work or have papers/pencils

out, be sure to clean up after yourself.• Be polite, courteous & respectful to your driver.

If you do not follow bus rules, you will be given an assigned seat on the bus or removed from the bus.

Buses Riding the bus is a privilege. The bus should be

treated as a “moving classroom.” The school day begins at your bus stop & ends when you arrive home.

• Drugs and Alcohol (includes prescription drugs,

cough drops, mouth wash, etc)• Tobacco items• Hand-held video games • Fireworks • Any item that can shock or hurt someone• Backpacks are not permitted in class• Cell Phones & iPods should be turned off and

stored in locker until the end of the day• Absolutely no cell phone use during school hours • Kindles/Nooks are for reading books only!

You may be expelled from all LCPS schools if you possess or use the following:

• Firearms of any kind, whether loaded or unloaded, operable or inoperable, including starter guns, pellet, Air-soft, BB pistols, paint ball gun that uses pneumatic pressure, rifles or silencers• Slingshots and flailing instruments such as nun

chucks or fighting chains• Discs, such as throwing stars or oriental darts• Any type of knife or razor• Destructive devices such as explosives, bombs,

grenades, or rockets

Safe Harbor The following are not a violation of this policy:

1. The accidental or inadvertent possession of a weapon by such student if the students accidentally or inadvertently brought the weapon onto school property or to a school-sponsored activity (provided the student immediately reports to a staff member and before such weapon is discovered or seen by a teacher, administrator, or other school employee or by another student).

Safe Harbor Continued…2. The possession of a weapon by a

student if such weapon was found on school property or at a school-sponsored activity by such student, provided the student IMMEDIATELY reports the same to a teacher or administrator and before such weapon is discovered or seen by a teacher, administrator, or other school employee or by another student.

Quarterly, each team will select students on their team to receive different awards encompassing both character & academic achievement.

The recipients of these awards will be honored during an evening grade level assembly.
