The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Executive Council Chair and Director General as well as contingent ambassadors from around the world visited the BGCAPP project and met with the Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission and Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board as part of their visit.

Blue Grass Updates
Construction now more than 68 percent complete
Systemization activities now more than 8 percent complete
Workers are installing the Munitions Washout System and rocket demilitarization equipment
Reverse Osmosis equipment has been received and is awaiting placement
Supercritical Water Oxidation equipment is slated for delivery late summer
Enclosure of the Munitions Demilitarization Building is almost complete
Construction of Hydrolysate Storage Area tanks is progressing
Project workers install the roof on the second of what will be five tanks in the Hydrolysate Storage Area. These tanks will hold the wastewater from processing, hydrolysate, before it is treated in the supercritical water oxidation process.

Explosive Destruction Technologies Environmental Assessment (EA)

Release of the EA and a draft Finding of No Significant Impact is expected toward the end of June
The release will be widely advertised and the document will be on-line, in our information repositories and at the Blue Grass Chemical Stockpile Outreach Office
Release of the EA will open a 30-day public comment period. Complete instructions on how and where to comment will be provided
During the public comment period, a public meeting will be held to further explain the EA and to respond to stakeholder questions on the document

Control and Support Building
