BLS HOLD IN THE HIGHEST REGARD ABOUT WORLD

VETERINARY DAY 2018

The Veterinary Month 2018 was observed by BLS in Rajshahi, Bangladesh

from 1th April’ to 30th April’ 2018. Like every year activities Bangladesh

Livestock Society (BLS) Observed world Veterinary Day from the year 2010.

To dissimilate and knowing of the World Veterinary Association with its logo

to our Society. The Veterinarian of Bangladesh specially the Rajshahi region

empowered through observing our professional day.

For that BLS think that the highest regard about world veterinary day 2018 by

jointly organised the events with Director of Livestock Services (DLS),

Rajshahi Division, and Bangladesh Biodiversity Conservation Federation

(BBCF) with the help of ACDI VOCA funded by USAID.

Joint meeting with partner organization decided to celebrate world

veterinary day in following events.

I. Women LSP training

II. World Veterinary day rally

III. World Veterinary day seminar with current year theme

IV. Free vaccination camp

V. Free Health campaign

VI. Closing day discussion about livestock treatment

WOMEN LSP TRAINING:

The Project of ACDI/VOCA, Bangladesh ‘Feed the Future Bangladesh livestock Production for Improved Nutrition (LPIN), funded by USAID deceided to recruit resources persion of the University of Rajshahi and by a project namely ‘’ A Project on women empowerment through livestock training. The fortnight training of livestock health and farm management in RU Narikelbaira campus, RU Pro vice Chancellor Dr. Anando Kumar Shah opened the occation and also présent, RU Agricultural Faculty Dean Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Zoology Professor Dr. M. Khalequzzaman DLS Assistant director Dr. Humayun Kabir, ACDI/VOCA Gender Advisor Ayesha Akter Kona, Acting team leader livestock Dr. Abdus Salam, BLS President and Project Director Prof. Dr. Md. Jalal Uddin Sarder, DPD, Dr. Akterul Islam, Dr Rashida Khaton and Dr Md. Hemayatul Islam Arif, Dept. Of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. BLS general Secretary act as a master of the ceremony.

WORLD VETERINARY DAY RALLY

BLS, DLS and BBCF Jointly organised a Colourful Rally from Rajshahi Monibazer to Shaid Kamaruzzam National Zoo. ACDI / VOCA women participant DLS, BLS and BBCF Official participated that program.

WORLD VETERINARY DAY SEMINAR WITH CURRENT YEAR THEME

Post Rally the participant meet the Shahid Kamaruzzaman Zoo Seminar room and discussed about world veterinary day 2018 Theme ‘The Role of the Veterinary Profession in Sustainable Development to Improve Livelihoods, Food Security and Saefty’.

FREE VACCINATION AND TRAINING CAMP

DLS, Paba Upazila Livestock officer Kbd. Ismail Haque with its Field volunteer Md. Shamsul ACDI/VOCA Field coordinator Dr. Md. Redwan Hasan and Field Facillator Mustafa Abbasi act to be present at the free vaccination camp. BLS & BBCF president and University of Rajshahi Professor Dr. Md. Jalal Uddin Sarder opened the “Free vaccination and Animal helath Campaign’ at the 28th April 2018.

ACDI/VOCA participant trained from the vaccination campaign and they vaccinated the animal with their own hand.

The Veterinary month 2018 and the women training program successfully ended at 30th April’2018 at University of Rajshahi Narikelbaria Campus. RU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Abdus Shobahan closed that training by certification of the women participant.
