The relationship between Richard and Gus.

Gus scolds Richard.Gus gives advices to Richard.Gus encourages Richard.

SECOND EVENT :

The relationship between Richard and Pa.

Pa understands and does not force Richard to do thing he does not want to.

Pa defends Richard. Pa accepts Richard’s poem and shares about Uncle Roland

with Richard. Pa breaks down in sadness and Richard reaches out to

comfort him.

THIRD EVENT :

The relationship between Angie and her family members.

Angie sacrifices school to take her mother’s duties. Angie matured a lot and understands Pa. Angie is always kind and she comforts

Richard whenever he feels left out.

TO SUM UP :

Family members understand us the most.

Sometimes we need to sacrifice for the sake of our family.

No matter how one doesn’t fit in with his family members,

the family bond will never be apart.

1. IN YOUR OPINION, DOES GUS LOVE HIS BROTHER, RICHARD?

2. WHY DO YOU THINK PA DIDN’T GET MAD TOWARDS RICHARD WHEN HE PURPOSELY MISSED THE SHOOT?

• Yes, Gus loves his brother because he gives a lot of advices to Richard. As for example, Gus advices Richard to join sports like baseball because he has a good shape, he wants the best for his brother’s future.

• Because he is an understanding father.• He knew that Richard does not like killing animals.
