What is the importance of blood group typing?

The test: What do you need?• Anti A serum.• Anti B serum.• Anti D serum.• Slides.• Glass marker.• Sterile finger puncture equipment.

What to do?

• Assemble all the necessary equipment.• Explain the procedure to the subject in simple words.• Place 3 drops of the Antisera on the slide.• Mark each drop with the anti sera you added.• Perform a sterile finger prick.• Add a drop of blood to each Antisera.• Allow time to pass and mix the specimen.• Observe for agglutination.
