The Omani government is very committed to diversifying the national economy by focusing on creating new employment opportunities in growing industries which will be a major theme of the symposium. Organising this event will raise the awareness amongst relevant authorities of the multiple technology applications of Blockchain architectures - as well as to position their institutions in a pioneering or governing role from a crypto- governance standpoint. One of the expected outcomes of the event is the creation of a FinTech Centre of Excellence in Muscat, therefore the global promotion of Oman as a regulatory-friendly destination for international Crypto/Blockchain companies is also part of the scope. The following organisations are part of the symposium’s Organising Committee: 1. Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). “Office of Science, Knowledge and Technology Transfer” 2. Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI). 3. Central Bank of Oman (CBO). 4. State General Reserve Fund (SGRF). 5. Capital Markets Authority (CMA). 6. Oman Banks Association (OBA).
