P ’ C LORD,TEACHUSTOPRAY(39).What a blessing for me to be in Italy as an Oblate of St. Joseph from late July of 1978 through early September of 1979. I was there for the funeral of St. Pope Paul VI on Au-gust 6, 1978. I was there for the election of Pope John Paul I. I attended one of his audiences. Ask me about the joke he told. I was there for his funeral. What a thrill to be right under the balcony of St. Peter’s Ba-silica when St. Pope John Paul II was presented to the world. One of the great highlights was when Pope John Paul II came to the Oblate General House and Parish of San Giuseppe Aurelio during Lent of 1979. He did this in recognition of our centennial as a Congrega-tion and to honor our founder, Joseph Marello, who had recently been declared “Venerable.” Ultimately, Pope John Paul II would be the one to beatify Ven. Marello in 1993 and to canonize him in 2001. I was chosen to be one of the servers for the papal Mass. See the photo below and check out who is holding the Pope’s miter. When I sent copies of that photo to my family, I declared myself to be the servant of the servant of the servants of God. Blessings, Fr. John

Our daily Mass on Saturday is at 8:00am. The irst and third Saturday. Our Saturday Vigil and Sunday outdoor Masses dur-ing the present pandemic restrictions will be at: 5:30 pm on Saturday at the school parking lot 7:00 am on Sunday in the courtyard. 7:30 am on Sunday on the school soccer ield. 8:30 am on Sunday in the courtyard. 5:30 pm on Sunday at the school parking lot. Estuve allı para el funeral del Papa Pablo VI el 6 de agosto de 1978. Estuve allı para la eleccion del Papa Juan Pablo I. Asistı a una de sus audiencias. Preguntenme sobre el chiste que conto. Estuve allı para su funeral. Que emocion estar justo debajo del balcon de la Basılica de San Pedro cuando el Papa Juan Pablo II fue presentado al mundo. Uno de los momentos mas destacados fue cuando el Papa Juan Pablo II vino a la Casa General de Los Oblatos y la Pa-rroquia de San Giuseppe Aurelio durante la Cuaresma de 1979. Lo hizo en reconocimiento a nuestro cente-nario como Congregacion y en honor a nuestro funda-dor, Joseph Marello, Recientemente declarado “Venerable”. En ultima instancia, el Papa Juan Pablo II serıa el que beati icarıa al Venerable Marello en 1993 y canonizarlo en 2001. Fuı elegido para ser uno de los servidores de la misa papal.
