Blessing of Graduates
Eternal God, in your will we find our purpose, and in your wisdom we find our joy.
Bless these graduates
who have completed a course of study and now begin a new part of their lives.
Let them not be troubled about yesterday, nor anxious about tomorrow,
but let them live fully this day which you have made.
Let them use the gifts they have received in their studies that they may become a source of inspiration
and blessing for the world. And when each day is ended, give them delight in knowing
that the good work you have begun in them shall come to completion in you.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Parish Directory A year ago at this time we were beginning to let the parish know about plans for a new parish directory. We’re so appreciative of all who came out to have your portraits taken, or submitted a portrait for the directory. It should have been completed long ago, but we ran into extended production delays. The good news is…we’ve just received the first proof and while there is still a bit of work to do on it, the end is in sight! Just as soon as we know when we’ll receive the new directories, we’ll let everyone know. Thanks for your patience.

Women and the Word Women and the Word is an initiative sponsored by Rev. Lou Papes and several lay Catholic ministers that offers women the opportunity to preach the Sunday Scriptures. Women and the Word also allow listeners to benefit from the unique perspective women bring to the preaching enterprise. The preaching takes place in the context of a Liturgy of the Word on Wednesday evenings, and will focus on the scriptures for the coming Sunday. The inaugural six-week series, alternating east-side and west-side locations, continues this week on Wednesday, May 25, at 7:30 at the Carmel of the Holy
Family, 3176 Fairmount Blvd., where Laura Bregar, OSU will be preaching and the readings that evening will be for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. To view previously recorded sermons, visit www.sabbathretreats.org and click on the Women and Word link. I’d be thrilled to see you at any of the remaining sessions, and please keep the project in your prayers. -- Lisa Frey

Gun Safety Information Cards Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus reports that Americans own almost 200 million guns. However, a gun in the home can be very dangerous, especially for children. Every year, nearly 1,500 children die from guns and many more are seriously injured. The Resurrection parish Social Justice commission is making “Gun Safety Tips” cards available in the Gathering Area. Take a card, read it, and share the tips to keep your family, community and yourself better protected from gun violence.
