MISSION STATEMENT: Blessed Trinity Catholic Church Stewardship Community recognizes Jesus is Lord. We believe that
our Time, Talent and Treasure are gifts from God to be used for the spiritual, educational and social needs of
our community, the Diocese and the world at large, especially the poor.
STEWARDSHIP BY THE BOOK
Today’s second reading reminds us that the sacrifice of Christ frees us from sin and
makes us a royal nation of priests in the service of God. How am I using my gifts to
serve God and others?
WORD OF LIFE

On this last Sunday of Ordinary Time for the liturgical year, we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King. This feast was instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925, at a time when the world was experiencing a rise of secularism, materialism and individualism, and an increasing denial of Christ’s existence and authority.
The hope was that the establishment of this feast would accomplish three goals — that nations would see that the Church has the right to freedom, that leaders and nations would see that they are required to give respect to Christ, the King of kings, and that the faithful would be strengthened and encouraged by the reminder that Christ must reign in our hearts, minds, wills and bodies.
This feast is needed more than ever for all people and for us especially, as Christian stewards. It reminds us of three vital truths. First, even when it seems the world is spinning out of control, we need not fear because we have a King of kings who is very much in charge and who is loving, merciful and just. Second, if Christ is king of all, then He is also king of me, personally. I am not “lord” of my time, talents, and treasure. He is. I am a servant of the King and a steward of His gifts to me. Third, as His disciple, I am called to imitate my King. Christ’s kingship is characterized by humble service, by emptying Himself for the good of others. The Scriptures tell us He went about doing good and He says of Himself, “I came not to be served but to serve.” How can I live in any other way than as a humble servant like my King? COMMUNAL ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the 4:00pm Mass
there will be Communal Anointing of the Sick and
the elderly.
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS 1. All items in our weekly bulletins have been previously approved by your priests. No items are allowed in the bulletin without prior approval. There are always “latecomers” who rush in with an item at the last minute. If I catch them on time I can give approval. Otherwise wait a week. 2. Items already approved in the bulletin can sometimes also be introduced from the pulpit, during announcements, as long as you have been given permission to do so. 3. No one is allowed to go to the pulpit on their own and deal with a topic that is not in the bulletin. Every community has people who want to tell the congregation what they think the people need to hear—such as political information, or business information, etc. If that ever happens—and it has—it does not have our approval. Voting is primarily a moral issue—not a political one. It is great to see so many people involved in the church and community. But from the pulpit we just deal with “catholic issues” - and that covers a multitude. Thanks.
CHRISTMAS FLOWERS
There is a box in the vestibule where you can place
your donations for our Christmas flowers. Please
help us decorate our Church home for the coming
of the Messiah!

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
The Immaculate Conception is a Holy Day of
Obligation. There is often confusion surrounding
the Immaculate Conception. By the name of the
feast day, one would think we would celebrate the
day Jesus was conceived. However, it is the day
that the Blessed Mother Mary was conceived in the
womb of her Mother, St. Ann.

Vigil Mass on Friday, December 7th: 5:30pm
Saturday, December 8th: 8:00am, 10:00am, and

envelopes. If you wish to become a registered parishioner

in our community and sent a loud and clear message
that our children come first! The 2018 Campaign has
wrapped up with almost $18,000 raised to support
our mission to protect, serve, and advocate for this
