A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR . . . Hello Church!! I love the month of June. We are in the summer mode. Baseball is happening around the
Blessed Sacrament neighborhood. Pentecost is a wonderful day in the liturgical year. Pentecost falls usually in
late May or early June. I like this time of the year.
We say a warm goodbye and good luck to Sr. Clarice. We wish you well, Sr. Clarice, in your Vocation
Ministry at your Benedictine Community in Yankton. Thank you Sr. Clarice for your almost five years of
ministry here at Blessed Sacrament.
We welcome some new Parish staff. Scott Hiatt is our new Director of Maintenance.
Sr. Barbara Wieseler will join us as our Pastoral Associate on September 1. Sr. Barbara is a Sister of Charity
from Leavenworth, Kansas. Sr. Barbara will be doing many of the things that Sr. Clarice did, yet this position
allows for one’s unique talents to shine through in unique and wonderful ways. I look forward to the ways that
Sr. Barbara’s ministry will enrich the Church of Blessed Sacrament. She has a wealth of talent and experience
which you’ll observe once she arrives and settles in.
This is the time of the year when folks are out and about and moving around. Be sure to take note of
Catholic places as you travel. I recently happened upon a former Monastery in Colorado that has become a
winery. It was a neat place. Catholic Churches, Monasteries and Shrines are often a great place to visit.
For several years Blessed Sacrament Parish has sent $300.00 per month to Maryknoll Missions. See in this
newsletter some reports regarding the projects you are supporting. Thank you!
Enjoy these days and enjoy this Newsletter. Blessed Sacrament is an alive and vibrant Parish.
Peace and all good things.

Blessing Prayer for Father’s Day
Blessed are You, Lord and Father of All Life,
who has given to us
the gift of the father of our family.
Today, we honor him,
and we thank You for the numerous good
things that are ours because of him.
His love for us
has been a sign of Your divine affection
and a sharing in Your holy love.
His continuous concern for our needs and
welfare is a mirror of Your holy providence.
And so, as we honor him,
we praise You, Father of All Peoples.
Bless him this day
with Your strength and holy power
that he may continue to be a sign of You,
our God, and a priestly parent to our family.
May we who have the honor of bearing his family
name and do so with great pride.
May we, the members of his family,
assist him in his holy duties as a parent
with our respect, our obedience and our deep
affection.
Bless him, Lord,
with happiness and good health,
with peace and with good fortune,
so that he who has shared of his very life
may live forever with You,
his God and heavenly Father.
This blessing and all graces we pray,
descend upon the father of our family:
in the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Eddy the Comfort Dog at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Preschool
Just sure I'll be friends FUR-ever with all the pups I met at Blessed Sacrament Preschool. Didn't think I'd have a
dog's chance to go to the front of the class, much less sit on the teacher's lap.
Do you think this makes me the teacher's pet?
Mary Miller, our Parish Nurse, received the
Participation Award in the Grand Island Independent’s Salute to Nurses.
Mary will receive a $100 gift card.
The nominating testimonies tell the story.
Mary is caring and brings Christ’s presence to folks through her ministry.
Thanks Mary for all you do
and congratulations!!
