Blessed Sacrament School —Lenten Almsgiving Food Drive

The Blessed Sacrament School is having a Food Drive designed to assist families in our community through the Wainwright Food Bank from March 18 to April 13, all students are encouraged to participate by donating one item, but extra items will be graciously accepted. The school would like to ensure that the food items donated reach families in need during this season of Lent. The food donated will be displayed in the chapel during the food drive. A list of items will be given to each grade.

The Together We Serve annual appeal invites

parishioners to support the outreach of the Catholic Church through the work of our partner organizations. Consider making a sacrificial gift on a monthly basis - increase the impact while lessening the financial burden of a one-time gift. Blessed Sacrament Parish Roof Update.

We keep asking for your support to help us to repay our Church’s Roof Loan, we thank wholeheartedly to all people who donated to our Building Fund in 2019, because of your generosity, today we have paid $57, 500.00.

Blessed Sacrament Church Memorial Lilies Memorial lilies are available for order and will be displayed on the altar during Easter. If you wish to order a lily in memory of a loved one, fill out the form provided and place the completed form, and a $10 donation for each lily, in the attached envelope and put it in the collection basket. YOUR LILY MAY BE IN MEMORY OF MORE THAN ONE PERSON . All names submitted will be included in the Easter bulletin. The final day for ordering lilies will be March 23rd. Cheques

may be made payable to Blessed Sacrament Church.

Cuaresma is a derivative of the Latin term Quadragesima, or “forty days” which denote the 40-day period of the Season of Lent, observe as a time of fasting in commemoration of Christ fast in the desert. During this season of Lent the Church asks us to fast, give alms, and pray. Who are called to fast? Catholics who are 18 years old to 59 years old are bound to practice the law of fasting. Catholics 14 years old until death are bound to practice the law of abstinence.

Knights of Columbus

Next Knights’ Meeting is Thursday, March 19th after Mass. Next Knights’ brunch will be March 15th served by Bro. Tony Costa. Free Taxi for the weekend masses and Bible Study. This service will continue with M&S Taxi. Please

BSL– Blessed Sacrament Ladies

Next Blessed Sacrament Ladies gathering is Tuesday, March 31st in the Parish Foyer. All ladies are welcome to attend! For information regarding their charitable activities please contact Louise Martineau.

The funeral for John Clouds will be this Monday, March 9 at 11:00 am.

Liturgical Ministers

Our parish Sacristan is in need of new volunteers to help her one hour every Monday, this include; clean up the sacristy and tide up the books in the church. If you are interested please contact Faye Laumbach [email protected] or the parish office at 780-842-3487.

We also would like to invite teens and adults , with basic computer knowledge to operate the overhead

projector to display the prayers during weekend Masses. Interested please contact the parish office.
