Sunday: 9:30 a.m.
BAPTISMS
Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole
Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit,
and the door which gives access to the other
sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed
from sin and reborn as sons of God; we
become members of Christ, are incorporated
into the Church and made sharers in her
mission: Since Baptism is not a private celebration,
but an incorporation in the large community
of the Church, Baptisms are ordinarily
celebrated on the fourth Sunday
of each Month after the 9:30 a.m. and
11:00 a.m. Masses.
WEDDINGS
Couples intending Marriage should call
the Rectory at least six months in
advance of the planned date.
RCIA
Please call the Rectory if you know of
someone who is interested in learning
about the Catholic Faith.

CATHOLIC
CHURCHES
Corpus Christi
Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi. This celebration, which has its roots back in the 1100s, reminds us that when we celebrate the Mass, Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist. It’s not just a symbol; it’s not something we do simply to celebrate our community
- it is truly Him. That is why it is so important that we prepare ourselves to receive the Eucharist every week. If you are conscious of any mortal sin, make sure to come to confession before coming to Mass (Tuesdays at 7am and 9pm, Saturdays at 3:30pm). We also fast from food and drinks for an hour before we receive Communion - not because those things are bad, but to help us realize how important the Eucharist is. When you get to church, do you take some time to pray and ask God that you can fully receive what He wants to give you at that Mass? Listen attentively to the readings; be open to God speaking to you. Then, when you receive the Eucharist, your heart will be prepared. Let us celebrate this feast by being ever more thankful for the gift of the Eucharist.
This Sunday, we also celebrate Father’s Day. Let us pray for our fathers – both living and deceased.
BLESSING FOR FATHERS
God and Father of all creation, we come before you today with humble hearts. You are our model of a loving father. When we fail and fall short of your expectations, you are always there at the end of the day with open arms, ready to heal the cuts and scrapes of the day and to encourage us to try again and not to give up.
We hold up these men in our midst who act in the world as fathers to their children or models of fathers for others.
Bless them in their moments of doubt and frustration with their children. Give them warm and open hearts to forgive failures. Provide them with the words needed for encouragement and perseverance. We ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
MEMORIALS: To Blessed Sacrament Church: in memory of DR. ANTON ROS by a friend.
YEAR OF CONSECRATION: Next Saturday marks the end of our diocese’s Year of Reconsecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. There will be a procession and closing Mass at the basilica in Marietta where there is also the opportunity to gain a plenary indulgence - meaning there are graces to be gained for ourselves or our deceased loved ones. To gain the indulgence, one must attend the closing celebration as well as go to confession, receive Holy Communion, and pray for the intentions of the Holy Father. If you are interested in attending the closing procession and Mass, and would like to go with a group, please contact Triumph of the Cross parish (740-264-6177)as soon as possible to ask about a seat on their bus.
CONGRATULATIONS: Last Saturday, Bishop Monforton ordained one of our seminarians, Josh Erickson from Toronto, to the transitional diaconate. This is the last step Deacon Josh will take before his final year of seminary and ordination to the priesthood next year. Please keep him and all of our seminarians in your prayers.

That national leaders may firmly commit themselves to ending the arms trade, which
victimizes so many innocent people.
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven.”
(pertaining to today’s Gospel: John 6:51-58)
Jesus is our food. Whatever emptiness may be felt in our lives, he alone can fill it. If a vacuum exists anywhere in need of justice, peace, charity, compassion, understanding, forgiveness, or simple respect, Jesus is the missing element. The living bread from heaven is what sustains hope on the planet. God is with us. God’s life is offered to us. The unity of humanity and divinity expressed in Jesus is the model of the oneness we seek as Church. It’s a high standard, but only high standards are worth pursuing.
When we speak of Jesus as food, we naturally tend to focus on the elements of our Eucharist. The unity of God – with – us begins there, but it can’t end at the Lord’s Table. If God – life is in us, then it must be knit to our blood and bone, to our actions and decisions, to our yearnings and relationships. Unity means unity. There can be no corner of our lives we reserve for selfish motives and bitter resentments. If we come to this Table, we’re asking for unqualified unity with the life of God. Is this really what we want? (Alice Camille)
How much of your life belongs to God, and how much do you reserve for other, perhaps conflicting or contradictory objectives?

MEN’S CLUB: Please note, there will be no Men’s Club meeting in July. The next meeting will be on Monday, August 7.
TRACKING MARY MYSTERIES and MESSAGES: Our summer Bible school will be held the week of June 26 – June 30, from 9:00am – 12:30pm, for children ages 3 years (MUST be fully potty trained!) through the sixth grade. Registration forms are in the parish office. Cost is $10.00 per child or $25.00 for families with three or more children registering.
WORKERS FOR BINGO: We are very much in need of more bingo workers for our Friday night bingo. We have been getting well over 70 people each Friday, which is great for our area. The more workers we have, the more “Instant Bingos” we can sell. The more we sell, the more money we make. I am asking especially our Catholic school parents to help, since the bingo helps to pay for our Catholic schools. But even if you are not involved in Catholic education, please come and help. Just be there on Friday evening at 5:45pm and ask to see Brian. He will show you all you need to know. Thanks to our faithful bingo workers who are there week after week. Please know my deep gratitude for what you do.
GRIEFSHARE: Next Saturday, June 24, session #13: “What Do I Live For Now?” will be held in lower Sargus Hall from 10:00am – 12:00noon. We have made the journey, but this is not the final step. It is the first step into living again. You will discover why it is so important to move forward, why this is a process, and why peace and pain will always coexist. Our parishes’ bereavement group, GRIEFSHARE, would like to build a library of books on grief topics. If you
have any books or booklets that you no longer use and you feel might be helpful, there will be a basket in each of the church’s main entrance/exit to place it in. If you have any questions, please contact Theresa Young (264-9948), Don Heiss or Bob Nicandro (264-1823). Thank you very much!
