For Confessions: Confessions in the Diocese of Laredo are suspended until
further notice. For now we can still do a good act of contrition, seek to gain
indulgences, and of course avoid sin.
The church office will continue to have staff answering the phone during
regular office hours, but the office will be closed to the public. Sunday
bulletins will be available in a box in front of the church, or online at our
website. Please monitor our website www.stpatricklaredo.org for more
announcements. Let us take to heart these beautiful words of St. Padre Pio:

MISSIONARY MINISTRY OF FATIMA The Catholic Church celebrates our Blessed Mother every May 13th as the Our Lady of Fatima, who appeared to three little shepherds six times in 1917. Lucia and her cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto, lived in a little town close to Fatima in Portugal. They were shepherds of their own flocks, humble people at heart. On May 13, 1917, the three children saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary at a place known as the Cova de Iria. Mary told them that she would return for the next six months every 13th day at the same time. Our Blessed Mother revealed to them during her 6 appearances, the importance of prayer with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to obtain peace in the world and the consecration to her Immaculate Heart, and she asked them to pray for the conversion of sinners, otherwise there would be wars and sufferings in the world. She gave them the gift of the visit of an Angel, who gave the first communion to Lucia and revealed prayers that we now say in the rosary. Mary revealed many things to the shepherd children, including heaven, purgatory and hell. In the sixth and last appearance, on October 13, before thousands of pilgrims who arrived in Fatima, the so-called “Miracle of the Sun” occurred. According to the testimonies, after the Virgin appeared to the little shepherds, the sun could be seen trembling in a kind of a "dance." Thus, the Church approving her apparitions, our Mother is entrusted to us so that through her intercession we will be protected and achieve peace in the world, in the Church, in society and in our families. We are all called to be one of her apostles, so let us offer our hearts to her in these times when we need to be with the rosary in hand and in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.
In St. Patrick Church, we have a ministry for children and adults called Missionaries of Fatima. The one for adults has the objective of worshiping the Blessed Sacrament, comforting Jesus through good works of mercy (we carry out approximately 20 different works of mercy a year), and we offer consolation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the prayer of the Holy Rosary and the meditation of the Hours of the Passion. This is done in community, through the Cenacles of prayer that exist in our Parish. We consecrate ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and make the Enthronement of homes to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, inviting many families to have Christ at the center of their home as the King Who guides and protects them. Also, every Wednesday, we offer a beautiful devotion to Saint Joseph.
The most important charism of the ministry is that we cover the entire Parish with the Mantle of María de Guadalupe. There are 46 stars imprinted on the mantle of the image of the Virgen of Guadalupe, each of these stars represents a Christian virtue. The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines virtue as "a habitual and firm disposition to do good." So, it is the spiritual work of each one of the Missionaries to take a virtue and devoutly ask that this virtue be lived intensely by the priests, parents, children and youth of our community. These spiritual offerings of each Missionary become pillars of prayer within our Church. The Fatima Missionaries for children has three levels of catechesis that begins after the child receives the sacrament of his first communion and continues until fifth grade. The first level is called the Friends of Jesus Cenacle and they reflect on the commandments. The second level is called Disciples of Jesus and they reflect on the works of mercy. The third level is called Missionaries of Jesus who reflect on the virtues and deadly sins. They also learn about the lives of the Saints, Virtues at home, love of the Sacraments and the Word of God. Let us continue praying with our families the rosary. Let us do penance through fasting, and let us visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, since He is the force of unity in the community. Supported by our priests, we will be able to save souls and unite the world, always from the hands of our Mother Mary. I invite you to do everything for the glory of God and his triumph in the world!

MANDATORY online Confirmation Classes started on Monday, April 27, 2020, via “Google Classroom”. There are still 2 more Monday classes that all students need to take in order to complete the year. All the classes will be from 7 pm to 8 pm the following dates: May 11 and May 18. These are the instructions for the first time users: 1. Go to classroom.google.com and click go To Classroom. 2. Select or enter your personal email address, it might ask you for your email password (have it ready). 3. If there is a welcome message, read it and click Accept. 4. You are using “G suite for Education Account”, so pick your role: “I’m a Student”. 5. Click Get Started. 6. On the top right corner, there is a + sign, select: join a class and enter the “class code” that you will get via Flocknote. Your “individual” class code was sent to you via Flocknote on Monday, April 27. Each classroom has a code. Parents that haven't turned in your teens Sponsor Form, please submit it as soon as city restrictions have been lifted and our offices reopen. There are 12 students that still need to retest. Please practice prayers & questions with your son/daughter in order to retest soon.

MINISTERIO MISIONERO DE FATIMA
La Iglesia Católica celebra a nuestra Santísima Madre cada 13 de mayo como Nuestra Señora de Fátima, quien se le apareció seis veces a tres pastorcitos en el año de 1917. Lucía y sus primos, Francisco y Jacinta Marto, vivían en un pequeño pueblo cerca de Fátima en Portugal. Eran pastores de sus propios rebaños, personas humildes de corazón. El 13 de mayo de 1917, los tres niños vieron la primera aparición de la Virgen María en un lugar conocido como Cova de Iria. La Virgen María les dijo que regresaría durante los próximos seis meses, cada día 13 a la misma hora. Durante cada aparición, ella les mostraba y revelaba muchas cosas, entre ellas, el cielo, el purgatorio y el infierno. Les manifestó la importancia de la oración con la recitación del Santo Rosario para obtener la paz en el mundo y la consagración a su Inmaculado Corazón. Todos estamos llamados a ser uno de sus apóstoles, así que ofrezcamos nuestros corazones a
ella en estos momentos cuando necesitamos estar con el rosario en la mano y en adoración ante el Santísimo Sacramento. En la Iglesia de San Patricio, tenemos un ministerio para niños y adultos llamado Misioneros de Fátima. El de adultos tiene el objetivo de adorar al Santísimo Sacramento, consolar a Jesús a través de buenas obras de misericordia (llevamos a cabo aproximadamente 20 diferentes obras de misericordia al año), y ofrecemos consuelo al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús a través de la oración del Santo Rosario y la meditación de las Horas de la Pasión. Esto se hace en comunidad, a través de los Cenáculos de oración que existen en nuestra Parroquia.
Nos consagramos al Inmaculado Corazón de María y hacemos la Entronización de los hogares al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, invitando a muchas familias a tener a Cristo en el centro de su hogar como el Rey que los guía y protege. Además, todos los miércoles, ofrecemos una hermosa devoción a San José. El carisma más importante del ministerio es que cubrimos a toda la Parroquia con el Manto de María de Guadalupe. Hay 46 estrellas impresas en el manto de la imagen de la Virgen de Guadalupe, cada una de estas estrellas representa una virtud cristiana. El Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica define la virtud como "una disposición habitual y firme para hacer el bien". Entonces, es el trabajo espiritual de cada uno de los Misioneros tomar una virtud y pedir devotamente que los sacerdotes, padres, niños y jóvenes de nuestra comunidad vivan intensamente esa virtud. Los Misioneros de Fátima para niños tienen tres niveles de catequesis que comienzan después de que el niño recibe el sacramento de su primera comunión y continúa hasta quinto grado. El primer nivel se llama el Cenáculo de los Amigos de Jesús y reflexionan sobre los mandamientos. El segundo nivel se llama Discípulos de Jesús y reflexionan sobre las obras de misericordia. El tercer nivel se llama Misioneros de Jesús que reflexionan sobre las virtudes y los pecados capitales. También aprenden sobre la vida de los santos, las virtudes en el hogar, el amor a los sacramentos y la Palabra de Dios. Sigamos rezando con nuestras familias el rosario. Hagamos penitencia a través del ayuno y visitemos a Jesús en el Santísimo Sacramento, ya que Él es la fuerza de la unidad en la comunidad.
