Blandin Broadband Community

• Sherburne was one of ten communities statewide to recently be named a “Blandin Broadband Community”

• We became eligible for $75,000 in broadband related grants as part of the program

Sherburne County History Center - $10,000

• Enhanced meeting room capabilities

Becker Athletic Complex - $12,000

Click icon to add picture-Year Round Wireless access -Ability to live stream events-Host to Becker'samateur baseballteam, the Becker Bandits. Soccer and football fields are also part of this complex during the fall months. A play area featuring a large structure, a swing set, rockers, shelter and a sandbox.

Lake Side Park in Big Lake $10,000

- Open everyday year round

- Contains the public beach, playground equipment, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, boat launch, fishing dock and pier, 2 shelters, a picnic area and a skate park

Rivers Edge Park in Elk River - $10,000

-Provide Year Round Wireless Access

-Improve public safety in the park – by installing cameras

-Televise the Riverfront Concert Series Live

Elk River School District - $2,000

Spectrum High School - $8,000

Elk River to Zimmerman Fiber - $10,000

-Public Groups to offer Job Coaching Courses, Workforce Training Seminars and Video Trainings.

- Business Connectivity at Job Fairs held in the Council Chambers.

- Classroom training opportunities for Adult Basic Education and College Courses.

Elk River to Zimmerman Fiber - $10,000

• Our Goals: Educate, Partner & Advocate

• Created educational materials and video

• Created a website www.sherband.com and Facebook page

• Wrote bi-weekly education blogs

• Attended local community events

• Contacted local officials

• Worked with area legislators to host a Broadband Town Hall in September
