Welcome to Blackpool Unitarians
Unitarians are very different
• We don’t have a particular set of beliefs that we expect
you to agree with.
• Everyone who comes to our church is free to discover
their own spiritual path.
• Whatever you believe will be respected by us.
• We will try to support you on your spiritual journey or
just provide an understanding ear.
• We do not judge anyone.
• You will always be made welcome.
We light the chalice flame at the beginning of our services at
10.45 every Sunday.
Don’t forget the Carol
service on Sunday 22
December at 6pm.
A mixture of interesting
readings, music and
carols, followed by
refreshments.

Quiz night
The winners of the trophy
were the Highfielder’s team -
Philip, Lorraine, Alistair and
Paul. Well done! The night
was enjoyed by all and raised
£300 for Trinity Hospice.
Many thanks to Quiz- Master,
Ron who also provided the
trophy in memory of Liz.
Thank you too to Carol for
the wonderful food.
International Tea Day
On December 15th tea-producing nations such as Sri
Lanka, Vietnam and Tanzania celebrate their popular
and enormous industry. However, this is also a chance for
them to draw the world’s attention to the workers’
conditions and other challenges facing the industry.

Linda and Graham would like to wish
you all a peaceful Christmas. We will not
be sending out Christmas cards, instead
we will be making a donation to a
homeless charity. xx

Lest we Forget
A moving service of remembrance
was led by Graeme Pilbrough on
Sunday 10th November. Many
thanks to Khris and Avril for decorating the church so
beautifully.
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire………
Roasted chestnuts have been a Christmas staple for
generations. They were originally cooked in the
mountainous areas of Europe at a time of year when
many other grains were not available. Chestnuts are the
only nuts with a meaningful amount of vitamin C in
them.

Two young boys were spending the night at their grand-
parents the week before Christmas. At bedtime, the two
boys knelt beside their beds to say their prayers when the
youngest one began praying at the top of his voice.
"I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE...
I PRAY FOR A NEW PLAYSTATION...
I PRAY FOR A NEW DVD PLAYER..."
His older brother leaned over and nudged the younger
brother and said, "Why are you shouting your prayers?
God isn't deaf." To which the little brother replied, "No,
but Grandma is!"
