Thursday,February 21, 2013 , 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. 

VT Voices - Kira Dietz (Acquisitions and Processing Archivist, Special Collections) talks about how African-American cooking became an integral part of  what we now think of as American cuisine.

Dr. Daniel Thorp (Associate Professor, Dept. of History) will discuss how he became interested in researching the history of African-Americans in Montgomery County, Virginia and what he learned about life in that community during the period from 1850 to 1910.
