TOUR RECAP ARTIST: Black Gold VENUE: Toad’s Place, New Haven, CT DATE: July 18, 2010 REP: Lauren Cirkot MARKET: New Haven/Hartford, CT SHOW NOTES: Toad’s was a great venue and welcomed me to put up posters early in the day (around 4). When I got there, the stage manager pointed out that Rooney had already put up a lot of posters, however, I made it my job to put more posters up around the venue, on counters and walls, and especially in the girl’s bathroom. This definitely was successful because all the posters were gone by the end of the night from people taking them. I also noticed a few places around the New Haven area had the Rooney tour posters up that day, besides the places that I put them in the last two weeks. When I arrived again later, around 6 when a line started forming, I gave out the download cards for Black Gold and asked people in line who they were there to see. Most said Rooney and Young Veins, and a few for Black Gold. However, when Black Gold went on stage first, the audience was really excited. The audience was made up of mostly girls, a few guys, ages 13-30, but I would say most were in the 14-20 age range. The turnout was not huge, but everyone paid attention and was enthusiastic about Black Gold. The crowd did a lot of dancing and clapping. At the end of the set, Black Gold had a huge response from the crowd. The CT audience definitely liked Black Gold. A lot of people went right to their merch table afterwards to meet the band and buy merch. OFFLINE

Market Set UpNotes: I went all around New Haven putting up the posters for Black Gold’s tour. I used the tour cards for places where posters weren’t allowed and also for places that did allow posters. I realized that after I took the photos that some of the posters I put up with no writing, which was my mistake, but the tour cards were there so people could still find the date.
