Lung Cancer Diagnosis• Lung cancer is the tumor which originates from the

Bronchoscopy• In this type the tube is inserted into the lung through throat

and windpipe.

• This is long and thin fiber optic tube which can be inserted with ease after the numbing medicine is given to the patients.

• For this treatment process, the patients doesn’t need to be admitted in the hospital for long duration. the lung cancer through this detected less precisely.

• Once the cancer cell is found, it is then taken by the process called biopsies

Endobronchial Ultrasonography

• This type of biopsy is done to detect the large cell.

• The transducers are kept at the end of the fiber-optic wire.

• The black and white image is generated in the computer screen.

• By looking the pathway in the computer, doctors insert the needle to take the sample out. Then the sample is tested under microscope.

Needle Biopsies• The hollow needles are inserted into the part and the cell

is extracted.

• No harming will happen to the patients in this testing process.

• This of two types:• 1. fine needle aspiration: very thin syringe is used to take

the cell out for testing• 2. Core Biopsy: large sized needles are used to extract

the big cells

Surgical Biopsy

• This types are opted when required with more amount of cell.

• There are three types of surgical biopsy:• 1. Thoracotomy: here, the chest wall is cut and the cells

are taken for testing. • 2. Thoracoscopy: the cut made in this level is little lighter

than above type. The thin cut is made and video camera is inserted through which the tumor cell is targeted and removed for testing.

• 3. Mediastinoscopy: this is done by cutting in front of the neck. A thin, hollow tube is inserted into the breast bone and windpipe.
