• Large renewable resource• Creates several products (electricity, heat,
biogas, fuel)• Can have negative fuel costs• Cost is effective• Unlike fossil fuels, biomass does not increase
carbon dioxide emissions & does not contribute to the risk of global warming.
Cons
• Pollution• Food shortages & increased prices• Expensive• The set up of a biomass power plant
requires huge space and the recycling of wastes requires a large amount of water
