TRANSCRIPT
Biology 20 – Biogeochemical Cycles Project
Instructions
→ Choose one of the biogeochemical cycles listed below as the focus for your project.
→ Research the potential environmental problems associated with this cycle. You may use your
textbook to help and/or use issues identified during our field trip.
→ Create a pamphlet, poster, power point, video or any other media format to inform the
general public about these issues.
→ You must include a reference section/bibliography. You may use the MLA or APA format for
proper citations. If you need assistance, please see me. This should include every source you
have used for information.
→ You must include at least two resources that are not from the Internet.
Elements your project should include:
1. A description/explanation of the cycle you have chosen.
2. Identify and discuss at least one environmental issue associated with the cycle you have
chosen. For example:
a. What threat does it pose to the environment?
b. How much of a concern is this issue? Who does it affect?
3. For each issue you identify, come up with two possible solutions to the
problem. The solutions need to be realistic.
4. Answers to the relevant questions from the text (yellow boxes #6-17) – see me if you need
clarification on this requirement.
Tips:
Remember that your project is intended to inform the public about an important
issue. As such, it should be easy to follow, neat and eye catching.
You may use the Internet, books, magazines and any other print media as
resources.
You will work in groups of four. Choose your group members wisely. You may
have to spend time outside of school on the project.
A portion of your mark may come from other members of your group based
upon your effort and contribution to the project.
