Marcial Antonio Lafuente Estefanía 1903 – 1984 

Born in Toledo, Spain, his father Frederico Lafuente  lawyer,

journalist and writer, he instilled in classical theater, but his

vocation was for the Industrial Engineering which he made

in USA.

Between 1.928 and 1.931 traveled much of the United States,

which helped him later to set their stories. During the

Spanish Civil War  was an artillery officer in the Republican

army, deciding not to go into exile went to jail where small

pieces of paper began to write.

Accepting the advice received from Henrique Jardiel Porcela 

"Write for people to have fun, is the only way to make money

with this," Marcial Lafuente once said "I started writing

almost a roll of toilet paper. I had no sheets, I had no pen, so I

decided to use the pen and paper toilet. was fifth in a room of 

one of the hotels I detained the government. "

Upon leaving the jail began publishing a small publishing Cies in Vigo, Spain, signing his first 

novels under the pseudonyms of "Tony Spring" or "Arizona", then the publisher Bruguera

always identified with the initials "M. L. Stephanie "what made you confused as" Maria Luisa

Estefania ".

He even wrote more than 2500 small western novels, popularly known in Spain as the novels

of "a duro" (one peseta), work to which their children were integrated which remain today as

a project the conquest of new public Internet through the

Silver Kane  said in a posthumous tribute "The public in

general has always had Marcial Lafuente Stephanie a very

false. By the fact that his literary style was very basic and

undeniably primary, there was the idea that he was a man of 

culture too elementary and primary schools. Nothing so

inaccurate.
