TheBiographyofProphetJesus(Isa)In many verses of the Glorious Qur’an Allah the Exalted denied the claim of theChristiansthatHehasason.AdelegationfromNagrancametotheProphetMuhammad(pbuh).TheybegantotalkabouttheirclaimabouttheTrinity,whichisthatAllahisthreeinone,theFather,theSon,andtheHolySpirit,withsomedisagreementamongtheirsects.That iswhyAllahaffirmed inmanyversesof theQur’an thatJesus isaslaveofAllah,whomHemoldedinthewombofhismotherlikeanyotherofHiscreatures,andthatHecreatedhimwithoutafather,asHecreatedAdamwithoutafatheroramother.

AllahtheAlmightysaid:AllahchoseAdam,Noah,thefamilyofAbrahamandthefamilyof Imran above the Alamin (mankind and jinns)(of their times). Offspring, one of theoother,andAllahisAll-Hearer,All-Knower.

RememberwhenthewifeofImransaid:“OmyLord!IhavevowedtoYouwhat(thechildthat)isinmywombtobededicatedforYourservices(freefromallworldlywork;toserveYourPlace ofworship), so accept this, fromme.Verily, You are theAll-Hearer, theAllKnowing.”

Then when she delivered her (childMary), she said: “O my Lord! I have delivered afemalechild,”andAllahknewbetterwhatshedelivered,-“andthemaleisnot like thefemale,andIhavenamedherMary,andIseekrefugewithYou(Allah)forherandforheroffspringfromSatan,theoutcast.”

SoherLord(Allah)acceptedherwithgoodlyacceptance.Hemadehergrowinagoodmanner and put her under the care of Zechariah. Every time he entered Al-Mihrab (aprayingplaceoraprivateroom),hefoundhersuppliedwithsustenance.

Hesaid:“OMary!Fromwherehaveyougotthis?”

She said: “From Allah. Verily, Allah provides sustenance to whom He wills, withoutlimit.”(Ch3:33-37Quran)

AllahdeclaredthatHehadelectedAdam(pbuh)andtheeliteofhisoffspringwhoobeyAllah. Then He specified the family of Abraham (pbuh), which includes the sons ofIshmael(pbuh),andthefamilyofImran,thefatherofMary.

MuhammadIbnIshaaqstatedthathewasImranIbnBashim,IbnAmun,IbnMisha,IbnHosqia, Ibn Ahriq, IbnMutham, Ibn Azazia, Ibn Amisa, Ibn Yamish, Ibn Ahrihu, IbnYazem,IbnYahfashat,IbnEisha,IbnIyam,IbnRahbaam,IbnDavid(Dawud).

ProphetZakariyah’s(pbuh)wife’ssisterhadadaughternamedHannah.Shewasmarriedto Imran, a leader of the Israelites. For many years, the couple remained childless.WheneverHannah saw anotherwomanwith a child, her longing for a baby increased.Althoughyearshadpassed,shenever losthope.Shebelieved thatonedayAllahwouldblessherwithachild,onwhomshewouldshowerallhermotherlylove.

SheturnedtotheLordoftheheavensandtheearthandpleadedwithHimforachild.Shewouldoffer the child in the serviceofAllah’shouse, in the templeof Jerusalem.Allahgrantedherrequest.Whenshelearnedthatshewaspregnant,shewasthehappiestwoman

alive,andthankedAllahforHisgift.HeroverjoyedhusbandImranalsothankedAllahforHismercy.

However,whileshewaspregnantherhusbandpassedaway.Hannahweptbitterly.Alas,Imrandidnotlivetoseetheirchildforwhomtheyhadsolonged.Shegavebirthtoagirl,andagainturnedtoAllahinprayer:“OmyLord,Ihavedeliveredafemalechild,”andthemaleisnotlikethefemale,andIhavenamedherMary,andIseekrefugewithYou(Allah)forherandheroffspringfromSatan,theoutcast.”(Ch3:36Quran)

Hannah had a big problem in reference to her promise to Allah, for females were notaccepted into the temple, and she was very worried. Her sister’s husband Zakariyah,comfortedher,sayingthatAllahknewbestwhatshehaddeliveredandappreciatedfullywhatshehadofferedinHisservice.Shewrappedthebabyinashawlandhandeditoverto the temple elders.As the babywas a girl, the question of her guardianship posed aproblemfortheelders.Thiswasachildoftheirlateandbelovedleader,andeveryonewaseagertotakecareofher.Zakariyahsaidtotheelders:“Iamthehusbandofhermaternalauntandhernearestrelationinthetemple;therefore,Iwillbemoremindfulofherthanallofyou.”

Asitwastheircustomtodrawlotstosolvedisagreements,theyfollowedthiscourse.Eachone was given a reed to throw into the river. They had agreed that whoever’s reedremainedafloatwouldbegrantedguardianshipofthegirl.AllthereedssanktothebottomexceptZakariyah’s.Withthissign,theyallsurrenderedtothewillofAllahandmadehimtheguardian.

ToensurethatnoonehadaccesstoMary,Zakariyahbuiltaseparateroomforherinthetemple.As she grewup, she spent her time in devotion toAllah.Zakariyahvisited herdailytoseetoherneeds,andsoitcontinuedformanyyears.Oneday,hewassurprisedtofind fresh fruit,whichwas out of season in her room.As hewas the only personwhocould enter her room, he asked her how the fruit got there. She replied that theseprovisionswerefromAllah,asHegivestowhomHewills.ZakariyahunderstoodbythisthatAllahhadraisedMary’sstatusabovethatofotherwomen.

Thereafter,Zakariyahspentmoretimewithher, teachingandguidingher.MarygrewtobeadevoteeofAllah,glorifyingHimdayandnight.

Ali Ibn Abi Talib narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “The best of theworld’swomenisMary(inherlifetime),andthebestoftheworld’swomenisKhadija(inherlifetime).”(SahihAl-Bukhari)

AbuMusaAl-AsharialsonarratedthattheProphetMuhammad(pbuh)said:“Mayamongmen attained perfection but among women none attained perfection except Mary thedaughterof Imran,andAsiya thewifeofPharaoh,and thesuperiorityofAisha tootherwomenislikethesuperiorityofTharid(anArabicdish)toothermeals.”

WhileMarywasprayinginhertemple,anangelintheformofamanappearedbeforeher.Filledwithterror,shetriedtoflee,praying:“Verily!IseekrefugewiththeMostBeneficent(Allah)fromyou,ifyoudofearAllah.”

Theangelsaid:“IamonlyaMessengerfromyourLord,(toannounce)toyouthegiftofarighteousson.”

Shesaid:“HowcanIhaveason,whennomanhastouchedme,noramIunchaste?”

Hesaid:“So(itwillbe),yourLordsaid:“Thatiseasyforme(Allah):And(Wewish)toappointhimasasigntomankindandamercyfromUs(Allah),anditisamatter(already)decreed,(byAllah).’”(Ch19:18-21Quran)

Theangel’svisitcausedMarygreatanxiety,whichincreasedasthemonthswentby.Howcouldshefacegivingbirthtoachildwithouthavingahusband?Later,shefeltlifekickinginsideher.Withaheavyheart,sheleftthetempleandwenttoNazareth,thecityinwhichshehadbeenbornwhereshesettledinasimplefarmhousetoavoidthepublic.

Butfearandanxietydidnotleaveher.Shewasfromanobleandpiousfamily.Herfatherhadnotbeenanevilmannorwashermotheranimpurewoman.Howcouldshepreventtonguesfromwaggingaboutherhonor?

After somemonths, she could not bear the mental strain any longer. Burdened with aheavywomb,sheleftNazareth,notknowingwheretogotobeawayfromthisdepressingatmosphere.

Shehadnotgonefar,whenshewasovertakenbythepainsofchildbirth.Shesawdownagainstadrypalmtree,andhereshegavebirthtoason.Lookingatherbeautifulbaby,shewashurtthatshehadbroughthimintotheworldwithoutafather.Sheexclaimed:“IwishIhaddiedbeforethishappenedandhadvanishedintonothingness!”

Suddenly, sheheardavoicenearby: “Grievenot,yourLordhasplaceda rivuletbelow,and shake the trunk of this tree, fromwhich ripe dateswill fall. So eat and drink andregainthestrengthyouhavelost;andbeofgoodcheer,forwhatyouseeisthepowerofAllah,Whomade thedrypalmtreeregain life, inorder toprovidefoodforyou.”ForawhileshewascomfortedbyAllah’smiracle,foritwasasuresignofherinnocenceandpurity.

Shedecidedtoreturntothecity.However,herfearsalsoreturned.Whatwasshegoingtotellthepeople?Asifsharinhismother’sworry,thebabybegantospeak:“Ifyoumeetanyperson say: ‘I havevowed to fast forTheBeneficent andmaynot speak to anyhumantoday.’”Withthismiracle,Maryfeltatease.

Asshehadexpected,herarrivalinthecitywithanewbornbabyinherarmsarousedthecuriosityofthepeople.Theyscoldedher:“Thisisaterriblesinthatyouhavecommitted.”Sheputherfingertoherlipsandpointedtothechild.Theyasked:“Howcanwespeaktoa newborn baby?” To their total amazement, the child began to speak clearly: “I amAllah’sservant.AllahhasgivenmetheBook,andhasmademeaprophet,andhasblessedmewhereverImaybe,andhasenjoinedonmeprayersandalms-givingaslongasIlive.Allahhasmademedutifultowardsshewhohadborneme.Hehasnotmademearrogantnorunblessed.Peaceuntome theday Iwasborn, theday I die, and theday I shall beraisedalive.”

Most of the people realized that the babywas unique, for itAllahwills something,Hemerely says “Be” and it happens.Of course, therewere somewho regarded the baby’sspeech as a strange trick, but at leastMary could now stay in Nazareth without beingharassed.

AllahtheExaltedrevealed:AndmentionintheBook(theQur’an,OMuhammad,thestoryof)Mary, when she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a place facing east. Sheplaced a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh (angelGabriel),andheappearedbeforeherintheformofamaninallrespects.

Shesaid:“Verily!IseekrefugewiththeMostBeneficent(Allah)fromyou,ifyoudofearAllah.”

Theangelsaid:“IamonlyaMessengerfromyourLord,(toannounce)toyouthegiftofarighteousson.”

Shesaid:“HowcanIhaveason,whennomanhastouchedme,noramIunchaste?”Hesaid: “So (it will be), your Lord said: “That is easy forMe (Allah): and (Wewish) toappointhimasasigntomankindandamercyfromUs(Allah),anditisamatter(already)decreed,(byAllah).’”

Sosheconceivedhim,andshewithdrewwithhimtoafarplace(Bethlehemvalley,aboutfourtosixmilesfromJerusalem).Andthepainsofchildbirthdrovehertothetrunkofapalmtree.Shesaid:“WouldthatIhaddiedbeforethis,andhadbeenforgottenandoutofsight!”

Then(thebabe“Jesus”orGabriel)crieduntoherfrombelowher,saying:“Grievenot!YourLordhasprovidedyouawaterstreamunderyou;andshakethetrunkofpalmtreetowardsyou,itwillletfallfreshripedatesuponyou.Soeatanddrinkandbeglad,andifyou see any human being, say: ‘Verily! I have vowed a fast unto theMost Beneficent(Allah)soIshallnotspeaktoanyhumanbeingthisday.’”

Thenshebroughthim(thebaby)toherpeople,carryinghim.Theysaid:“OMary!IndeedyouhavebroughtathingFariyya(anunheardmightything).Osister(thelike)ofAaron(notthebrotherofMoses,buthewasanotherpiousmanatthetimeofMary)!Yourfatherwasnotamanwhousedtocommitadultery,norwasyourmotheranunchastewoman.”

Then she pointed to him. They said: “How can we talk to one who is a child in thecradle?”

He(Jesus)said:“Verily!IamaslaveofAllah.HehasgivenmetheScriptureandmademe a Prophet; and He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined meprayer,andZakat,aslongasIlive,anddutifultomymother,andmademenotarrogant,unblest.AndSalam(peace)beuponmethedayIwasborn,andthedayIdie,andthedayIshallberaisedalive!”

SuchisJesus,sonofMary.(Itis)astatementoftruth,aboutwhichtheydoubt(ordispute).Itbefitsnot(theMajestyof)AllahthatHeshouldbegetason(thisreferstotheslanderofChristiansagainstAllah,bysayingthatJesusisthesonofAllah).Glorified(andExaltedbeHeaboveallthattheyassociatewithHim).WhenHedecreesathing,Heonlysaystoit,“Be!”-anditis.

Jesussaid:“AndverilyAllahismyLordandyourLord.SoworshipHim(Alone).ThatistheStraightPath.(Allah’sReligionofIslamicMonotheismwhichHedidordainforallofHisProphets).”

Then thesectsdiffered (theChristiansaboutJesus), sowoeunto thedisbeliveers (thosewhogavefalsewitnesssayingthatJesusisthesonofAllah)fromthemeetingofagreatDay(theDayofResurrection,whentheywillbethrownintheblazingFire).

Howclearlywillthey(polytheistsanddisbeliveersintheOnenessofAllah)seeandhear,theDaywhentheywillappearbeforeUs!ButtheZalimun(polytheistsandwrong-doers)todayareinplainerror.Andwarnthem(OMuhammad)oftheDayofgriefandregrets,when thecasehasbeendecided,whilenow theyare inastateofcarelessnessand theybelievenot.(Ch19:16-39Quran)

ItwassaidthatJosephtheCarpenterwasgreatlysurprisedwhenheknewthestory,soheaskedMary:“Cana treecome togrowwithouta seed?”She said: “Yes, theonewhichAllahcreatedforthefirsttime.”Heaskedheragain:“Isitpossibletobearachildwithoutamalepartner?”Shesaid:“Yes,Allah,createdAdamwithoutmaleorfemale!”

Itwasalsosaidthat,whilepregnant,Marywentonedaytoheraunt,whoreportedthatshefelt as if shewas pregnant.Mary in turn, said that she, too,was feeling as if shewaspregnant.Thenherauntsaid:“Icanseewhatisinmywombprostratingtowhatisinyourwomb.”

TheJewishpriestsfeltthischildJesuswasdangerous,fortheyfeltthatthepeoplewouldturn their worship to Allah the Almighty Alone, displacing the existing Jewish tenets.Consequently, theywould lose their authority over the people.Therefore, they kept themiracleofJesus’sspeechininfancyasasecretandaccusedMaryofagreatmisdeed.

AsJesus(pbuh)grew,thesignsofprophethoodbegantoincrease.Hecouldtellhisfriendswhatkindofsupperwaitedforthemathomeandwhattheyhadhiddenandwhere.Whenhewastwelveyearsold,heaccompaniedhismothertoJerusalem.TherehewanderedintothetempleandjoinedacrowdlisteningtothelectureoftheRabbis(Jewishpriests).Theaudiencewerealladults,buthewasnotafraidtositwiththem.Afterlisteningintently,heaskedquestionsandexpressedhisopinion.Thelearnedrabbisweredisturbedbytheboy’sboldnessandpuzzledbythequestionsheasked,fortheywereunabletoanswerhim.Theytried to silence him, but he ignored their attempts and continued to express his views.Jesusbecamesoinvolvedinthisexchangethatheforgotheasexpectedbackhome.

In the meantime, his mother went home, thinking that he might have gone back withrelatives or friends. When she arrived, she discovered that he was not there, so shereturnedtothecitytolookforhim.Atlastshefoundhiminthetemple,sittingamongthelearned,conversingwiththem.Heappearedtobequiteateast,asifhehadbeendoingthisallhislife.Marygotangrywithhimforcausingherworry.Hetriedtoassureherthatallthearguinganddebatingwiththelearnedhadmadehimforgotthetime.

Jesusgrewuptomanhood.ItwasSabbath,adayofcompleterest:nofirecouldbelitorextinguished nor could females plait their hair. Moses (pbuh) had commanded thatSaturdaybededicatedtotheworshipofAllah.However,thewisdombehindtheSabbathanditsspirithadgone,andonlytheletterremainedintheJews’hearts.Also,theythoughtthatSabbathwaskeptinheaven,andthatthePeopleofIsraelhadbeenchosenbyAllahonlytoobservetheSabbath.

TheymadeahundredthingsunlawfulonSaturdayevenself-defenseorcallingadoctortosave a patient who was in bad condition. This is how their life was branded by such

hypocrisy.Although thePhariseeswere guardians of the law, theywere ready to sell itwhentheirinterestswereinvolvedsoastoobtainpersonalgains.Therewas,forexample,a rulewhichprohibiteda journeyofmore thanone thousandyardson theSabbathday.Whatdoweexpectof thePharisees in this case?Thedaybefore, they transferred theirfoodanddrinkfromtheirhomestwothousandyardsawayanderectedatemporaryhousesothatfromttheycouldtravelafurtherthousandyardsontheSabbathday.

Jesuswasonhiswaytothetemple.AlthoughitwastheSabbath,hereachedouthishandtopicktwopiecesoffruittofeedahungrychild.ThiswasconsideredtobeaviolationoftheSabbath law.Hemade a fire for theoldwomen tokeep themselveswarm from thefreezing air. Another violation. He went to the temple and looked around. There weretwentythousandJewishpriestsregisteredtherewhoearnedtheir livingfromthetemple.Theroomsofhetemplewerefullofthem.

Jesusobservedthatthevisitorsweremuchfewerthanthepriests.Yetthetemplewasfullofsheepanddoveswhichweresoldtothepeopletobeofferedassacrifices.Everystepinthetemplecostthevisitormoney.Theyworshippednothingbutmoney.Inthetemple,thePhariseesandSadduceesactedasifitwereamarketplace,andthesetwogroupsalwaysdisagreedoneverything.Jesusfollowedthescenewithhiseyesandobservedthatthepoorpeoplewhocouldnotaffordthepriceofthesheepordoveweresweptawaylikefliesbythe Pharisees and Saducees. Jesus was astonished. Why did the priests burn a lot ofofferingsinsidethetemple,whilethousandsofpoorpeoplewerehungryoutsideit?

On this blessed night, the two noble prophets John (pbuh) and Zakariyah (pbuh) died,killed by the ruling authority. On the same night, the revelation descended upon Jesus(pbuh).Allah theExaltedcommandedhimtobeginhiscall to thechildrenof Israel.ToJesus,thelifeofeasewasclosed,andthepageofworshipandstruggledwasopened.

Like an opposing force, the message of Jesus came to denounce the practices of thePhariseesandtoreinforcetheLawofMoses.Inthefaceofamaterialisticageofluxuryand worship of gold, Jesus called his people to a nobler life by word and deed. Thisexemplarylifewastheonlywayoutofthewretchednessanddiseasesofhisage.Jesus’scall,fromthebeginning,wasmarkedbyitscompleteuprightnessandpiety.Itappealedtothesoul,theinnerbeing,andnotbeaclosedsystemofruleslaiddownbysociety.

JesuscontinuedinvitingthepeopletoAlmightyAllah.HiscallwasbasedontheprinciplethatthereisnomediationbetweentheCreatorandHiscreatures.However,JesuswasinconflictwiththeJews’superficialinterpretationoftheTorah.HesaidthathedidnotcometoabrogatetheTorah,buttocompleteitbygoingtothespiritofitssubstancetoarriveatitsessence.

Hemade the Jews understand that the TenCommandments havemore value than theyimagined.Forinstance,thefifthcommandmentdoesnotonlyprohibitphysicalkilling,butall forms of killing; physical, psychological, or spiritual. And the sixth commandmentdoesnotprohibitadulteryonlyinthesenseofunlawfulphysicalcontactbetweenamanandawoman,butalsoprohibitsallformsofunlawfulrelationsoractsthatmightleadtoadultery.Theeyecommitsadulterywhenitlooksatanythingwithpassion.

Jesuswasthereforeinconfrontationwiththematerialisticpeople.Hetoldthemtodesistfrom hypocrisy, show and false praise. Therewas no need to hoardwealth in this life.

Theyshouldnotpreoccupythemselveswiththegoodsof thispassingworld;rathertheymust preoccupy themselves with the affairs of the coming world because it would beeverlasting.

Jesus told them that caring for this world is a sin, not fit for pious worshippers. Thedisbeliveerscareforitbecausetheydonotknowabetterway.Asforthebelievers,theyknowthattheirsustenanceiswithAllah,sotheytrustinHimandscornthisworld.

JesuscontinuedtoinvitepeopletoworshiptheOnlyLord,Whoiswithoutpartner,justasheinvitedthemtopurifytheheartandsoul.

Histeachingannoyedthepriests,foreverywordofJesuswasathreattothemandtheirposition,exposingtheirmisdeeds.

TheRomanoccupiershad,atfirst,nointentionofbeinginvolvedinthisreligiousdiscordoftheJewsbecauseitwasaninternalaffair,andtheysawthatthisdisputewoulddistracttheJewsfromthequestionoftheoccupation.

However, thepriestsstarted toplotagainstJesus.Theywanted toembarrasshimand toprove that he had come to destroy theMosaic Law. TheMosaic Law provides that anadulteress be stoned to death. They brought him a Jewish adulteress and asked Jesus:“Doesnot the lawstipulate thestoningof theadulteress?”Jesusanswered:“Yes.”Theysaid:“Thiswomanisanadulteress.”Jesuslookedatthewomanandthenatthepriests.Heknewthattheyweremoresinfulthanshe.TheyagreedthatsheshouldbekilledaccordingtoMosaicLaw,andtheyunderstoodthatifhewasgoingtoapplyMosaicLaw,hewouldbedestroyinghisownrulesofforgivenessandmercy.

Jesusunderstoodtheirplan.Hesmiledandassented:“Whoeveramongyouissinlesscanstoneher.”HisvoiceroseinthemiddleoftheTemple,makinganewlawonadultery,forthesinlesstojudgesin.Therewasnoneeligible;nomortalcanjudgesin,onlyAllahtheMostMerciful.

AsJesusleftthetemple,thewomanfollowedhim.Shetookoutabottleofperfumefromher garments, knelt before his feet andwashed themwith perfume and tears, and thendriedhisfeetwithherhair.Jesusturnedtothewomanandtoldhertostandup,adding:“OLord, forgive her sins.” He let the priests understand that those who call people toAlmightyAllaharenotexecutioners.Hiscallwasbasedonmercyforthepeople,theaimofalldivinecalls.

JesuscontinuedtopraytoAllahformercyonhispeopleandtoteachhispeopletohavemercyononeanotherandtobelieveinAllah.

Jesuscontinuedhismission,aidedbydivinemiracles.SomeQur’aniccommentatorssaidthatJesusbroughtfourpeoplebackfromthedead:afriendofhisnamedAl-Azam,anoldwoman’s son, and a woman’s only daughter. These three had died during his lifetime.When the Jews saw this they said: “You only resurrect those who have died recently;perhapstheyonlyfainted.”TheyaskedhimtobringbacktolifeSamtheIbnNoah.

When he asked them to show him his grave, the people accompanied him there. JesusinvokedAllahtheExaltedtobringhimbacktolifeandbehold,SamtheIbnNoahcameoutfromthegravegray-haired.Jesusasked:“howdidyougetgrayhair,whentherewas

no aging in your time?” He answered: “O Spirit of Allah, I thought that the Day ofResurrectionhadcome;fromthefearofthatdaymyhairturnedgray.”

AllahtheAlmightysaid:RememberwhenAllahwillsay(ontheDayofResurrection):“OJesus,sonofMary!RememberMyFavortoyouandtoyourmotherwhenIsupportedyouwithRuh-ul-Qudus(Gabriel)sothatyouspoketothepeopleinthecradleandinmaturity;andwhenI taughtyouwriting,AlHikmah(thepowerofunderstanding), theTorahandtheGospel; andwhenyoumadeoutof the clay, as itwere, the figureof abird, byMyPermission, and youbreathed into it, and it becameabirdbyMyPermission, and youhealedthosebornblind,andthelepersbyMyPermission,andwhenyoubroughtforththedeadbyMyPermission;andwhenIrestrainedtheChildrenofIsraelfromyou(whentheyresolved to kill you) since you came unto them with clear proofs, and the disbeliveersamongthemsaid:‘Thisisnothingbutevidentmagic.’”

AndwhenI(Allah)putintheirheartsofthedisciples(ofJesus)tobelieveinMeandMyMessenger,theysaid:“Webelieve.AndbearwitnessthatweareMuslims.”(Ch5:110-111Quran)

Almighty Allah also revealed: And He Allah will teach him (Jesus) the Book and AlHikmah (theSunna, the faultless speechof theProphets,wisdom,etc.), (and) theTorahandtheGospel.

Andwillmakehim(Jesus)aMessengertotheChildrenofIsrael(saying):“IhavecometoyouwithasignfromyourLord,thatIdesignforyououtofclay,asitwere,thefigureofabird,andbreatheintoit,anditbecomesabirdbyAllah’sLeave;andIhealhimwhowasbornblind,andtheleper,andIbringthedeadtolifebyAllah’sleave.AndIinformyouofwhatyoueat,andwhatyoustoreinyourhouses.Surely,thereinisasignforyou,ifyoubelieve.AndIhavecomeconfirmingthatwhichwasbeforemeoftheTorah,andtomakelawfultoyoupartofwhatwasforbiddentoyou,andIhavecometoyouwithprooffromyourLord.SofearAllahandobeyme.Truly!AllahismyLordandyourLord,soworshipHim(Alone).ThisistheStraightPath.”

Thenwhen Jesus came to knowof their disbelief, he said: “Whowill bemy helpers inAllah’sCause?”Thedisciplessaid:“WearethehelpersofAllah;webelieveinAllah,andbearwitnessthatweareMuslims(wesubmittoAllah).”

OurLord!WebelieveinwhatYouhavesentdown,andwefollowtheMessenger(Jesus);sowriteusdownamongthosewhobearwitness(tothetruth,LailahaillAllah-nonehastherighttobeworshippedbutAllah).

Andthey(disbeliveers)plotted(tokillJesus),andAllahplannedtoo.AndAllahistheBestoftheplanners.(Ch3:48-54Quran)

JesuscontinuedcallingpeopletoAlmightyAllahandlayingdownforthemwhatmightbecalled “the law of the Spirit.” Once when standing on a mountain surrounded by hisdisciples, Jesus saw that those who believed in him were from among the poor, thewretched,anthedowntrodden,andtheirnumberwassmall.SomeofthemiracleswhichJesusperformedhadbeenrequestedbyhisdisciples,suchastheirwishfora“holytable”tobesentdownfromheaven(sky).

AllahtheExaltedsaid:Rememberwhenthedisciplessaid:“OJesus,sonofMary!CanyourLordsenddowntousa tablespread(with food) fromheaven?”Jesussaid:“FearAllah,ifyouareindeedbelievers.”Theysaid:“WewishtoeatthereofandtobestrongerinFaithandtoknowthatyouhaveindeedtoldusthetruthandthatweourselvesbeitswitnesses.”

Jesus,sonofMary,said:“OAllah,ourLord!Sendusfromheavenatablespread(withfood)thattheremaybeforus-forthefirstandthelastofus-afestivalandasignfromYou; and provide us sustenance, for You are the best of sustainers.”Allah said: “I amgoingtosenditdownuntoyou,butifanyofyouafterthatdisbelieves,thenIwillpunishhimwithatormentsuchasIhavenotinflictedonanyoneamongalltheAlamin(mankindandjinn).”(Ch5:112-115Quran)

ItwasrelatedthatJesuscommandedhisdisciplestofastforthirtydays;attheendofit,theyaskedJesustobringfoodfromheaventobreaktheirfast.JesusprayedtoAllahafterhisdiscipleshaddoubtedAllah’spower.Thegreattablecamdownbetweentwoclouds,oneaboveandonebelow,whilethepeoplewatched.Jesussaid:“OLord,makeitamercyandnotacauseofdistress.”SoitfellbetweenJesus’shands,coveredwithanapkin.

Jesussuddenlyprostratedandhisdiscipleswithhim.Theysensedafragrance,whichtheyhadneversmelledbefore.Jesussaid:“Theonewhoisthemostdevoutandmostrighteousmayuncoverthetable,thatwemighteatofittothankAllahforit.”Theysaid:“OSpiritofAllah,youarethemostdeserving.”

Jesus stood up, then performed ablution and prayed before uncovering the table, andbehold,therewasaroastedfish.Thedisciplessaid:“OSpiritofAllah,isthisthefoodofthisworldorofParadise?”Jesussaid tohisdisciples:“DidnotAllah forbidyou toaskquestions?ItisthedivinepowerofAllahtheAlmightyWhosaid:‘Be,’anditwas.Itisasign fromAlmighty Allah warning of great punishment for unbelievingmortals of theworld.Thisisthekernelofthematter.”

Itissaidthatthousandsofpeoplepartookofit,andyettheyneverexhaustedit.Afurthermiraclewasthattheblindandleperswerecured.

TheDayoftheTablebecameoneoftheholydaysforthedisciplesandfollowersofJesus.Lateron, thedisciplesandfollowersforgot therealessenceof themiracles,andsotheyworshippedJesusasagod.

AlmightyAllahasserted:AndrememberwhenAllahwillsay(ontheDayofResurrection):“OJesus,sonofMary!Didyousayuntomen:‘WorshipmeandmymotherastwogodsbesidesAllah?’”Hewillsay:“GlorybetoYou!Itwasnot formetosaywhatIhadnorighttosay.HadIsaidsuchathing,Youwouldsurelyhaveknownit.Youknowwhatisinmy inner self though I do not knowwhat is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the AllKnowerofallthatishiddenandunseen.NeverdidIsaytothemaughtexceptwhatYou(Allah)didcommandme to say: ‘WorshipAllah,myLordandyourLord’,And Iwasawitnessover themwhile Idweltamongst them,butwhenYou tookmeup,Youwere theWatcheroverthem,andYouareaWitnesstoall things.(ThisisagreatadmonitionandwarningtotheChristiansof thewholeworld).Ifyoupunishthem,theyareYourslaves,andifYouforgivethem,VerilyYou,onlyYouaretheAllMighty,theAllWise.”

Allahwillsay:“ThisisaDayonwhichthetruthfulwillprofitfromtheirtruth:theirsareGardensunderwhichriversflow(inParadise)-theyshallabidethereinforever.Allahispleased with them and they with Him. That is the great success (Paradise). To Allahbelongsthedominionoftheheavensandtheearthandallthatistherein,andHeisAbletodoallthings.”(Ch5:116-120Quran)

Jesuswentonhismissionuntilviceknewthat its thronewas threatening to fall.So theforcesofevilaccusedhimofmagic,infringementoftheMosaicLaw,allegiancewiththedevil;andwhentheysawthatthepoorpeoplefollowedhim,theybegantoschemeagainsthim.

TheSanhedrin,thehighestjudicialandecclesiasticalcounciloftheJews,begantomeettoplotagainstJesus.Theplan tookanewturn.WhentheJewsfailed tostopJesus’scall,theydecidedtokillhim.Thechiefpriestsheldsecretmeetingstoagreeonthebestwayofgetting rid of Jesus.While theywere in such ameeting, one of the twelve apostles ofJesus,JudasIscariot,wenttothemandasked:“WhatwillyougivemeifIdeliverhimtoyou?” Judas bargained with them until they agreed to give him thirty pieces of silverknownasshekels.TheplotwaslaidforthecaptureandmurderofJesus.

ItwassaidthatthehighpriestoftheJewstorehisgarmentatthemeeting,claimingthatJesushaddeniedJudaism.Thetearingofclothesatthattimewasasignofdisgust.

Thepriestshadnoauthoritytopassthedeathsentenceatthattime,sotheyconvincedtheRoman governor that Jesuswas plotting against the security of theRomanEmpire andurged him to take immediate action against him. The governor ordered thaJesus bearrested.

AccordingtotheBookofMatthew,Jesuswasarrestedandthecouncilofthehighpriestspassedthedeathsentenceuponhim.Then,theybeganinsultinghim,spittingonhisfaceandkickinghim.

ItwastheRomancustomforthecondemnedtobefloggedbeforetheywereexecuted.SoPilate, the Roman governor, ordered that Jesus be flogged. TheMosaic Law stipulatesfortylashes,buttheRomanhadnolimit,andtheywerebrutallashes.Afterthat,Jesuswashandedtothesoldiersforcrucifixion.Theytookoffhisclothes,andkeptthem.Theyputacrownofthornsonhisheadtomockhim.Accordingtocustomhecarriedhiscrossonhisbacktoincreasehissuffering.

Finally, they reached a place calledGolgotha,meaning the Place of Skulls, outside thewallsofJerusalem.Insteadofgivinghimacupofwinedilutedwithscenttohelplessenthepainonthecross,thesoldiersgaveJesusacupofvinegardilutedwithgall.Thentheycrucifiedhimand,asafurthermockery,twothieveswithhim.SoitiswrittenintheBible.

ButthefaithofIslamcamewithviewsquitedifferentfromthatoftheextendgospelswithregardstoboththeendofJesusandhisnature.

TheGloriousQur’anaffirmsthatAllahtheExalteddidnotpermitthepeopleofIsraeltokillJesusorcrucifyhim.WhathappenedwasthatAllahsavedhimfromhisenemiesandraisedhimtoheaven(sky).TheyneverkilledJesus,theykilledsomeoneelse.

AllahtheAlmightydeclared:Andbecauseoftheirsaying(inboast),“WekilledMessiahJesus,sonofMary, theMessengerofAllah,”but theykilledhimnot,norcrucifiedhim,

but the resemblanceof Jesuswasput overanotherman (and they killed thatman)andthosewhodiffer thereinare fullofdoubts.Theyhavenocertainknowledge, they follownothing but conjecture.For surely; they killed himnot (Jesus, son ofMary):ButAllahraisedhim(Jesus)up (withhisbodyandsoul)untoHimself (andhe is in theheavens).AndAllahisEverAllPowerful,AllWise.

AndthereisnoneofthepeopleoftheScripture(Jews&Christians),butmustbelieveinhim(Jesus,sonofMary,asonlyaMessengerofAllah,andahumanbeing0,beforehis(JesusoraJew’soraChristian’s)death(at the timeof theappearanceof theangelofdeath).Andon theDayofResurrection,he(Jesus)willbeawitnessagainst them. (Ch4:157-159Quran)

AlmightyAllahalsorevealed:AndrememberwhenAllahsaid:“OJesus!IwilltakeyouandraiseyoutoMyselfandclearyou(oftheforgedstatementthatJesusisAllah’sson)ofthosewhodisbelieve,and Iwillmake thosewho followyou (Monotheists,whoworshipnonebutAllah)superiortothosewhodisbelieve(intheOnenessofAllah,ordisbelieveinsomeofHisMessengers,e.g.Muhammad,Jesus,Moses,etc.,orinHisHolyBooks,e.g.theTorah,theGospel,theQur’an)tilltheDayofResurrection.ThenyouwillreturntoMeand I will judge between you in the matters in which you used to dispute.” (Ch 3:55Quran).

AlmightyAllah refuted theclaimsof theJewsand theChristians inmanyversesof theGloriousQur’an.

Andheysay:“TheMostBeneficent(Allah)hasbegottenason(oroffspringorchildren)(astheJewssay:EzraisthesonofAllah,andtheChristianssaythatHehasbegottenason(Christ),andthepaganArabssaythathehasbegottendaughters(angels,etc.)).”

Indeedyouhavebroughtforth(said)aterribleevilthing.Wherebytheheavensarealmosttorn,andtheearthissplitasunder,andthemountainsfallinruins,thattheyascribeason(oroffspringorchildren)totheMostBeneficent(Allah).

Butitisnotsuitablefor(theMajestyof)theMostBeneficent(Allah)thatHeshouldbegetason(oroffspringorchildren).Thereisnonintheheavensandtheearthbutcomesuntothe Most Beneficent (Allah) as a slave. Verily, He knows each one of them, and hascountedthemafullcounting.AndeveryoneofthemwillcometoHimaloneontheDayofResurrection(withoutanyhelper,orprotectorordefender).(Ch19:88-95Quran)

AllahtheExaltedalsodeclared:Yet,theyjointhejinnsaspartnersinworshipwithAllah,thoughHehascreatedthem(thejinns),andtheyattributefalselywithoutknowledgesonsanddaughterstoHim.BeHeGlorified!AndExaltedabove(all)thattheyattributetoHim.HeistheOriginatoroftheheavensandtheearth.HowcanHehavechildrenwhenHehasnowife?HecreatedallthingsandHeistheAll-Knowerofeverything.

SuchisAllah,yourLord!LailahaillaHuwa(nonehastherighttobeworshippedbutHe),theCreatorofallthings.SoworshipHim(Alone),andHeistheWakil(Trustee,Disposerofaffairs,Guardianetc.)overalltings.

No vision can graspHim, butHisGrasp is over all vision.He is theMost Subtle andCourteous,Well-Acquaintedwithallthings.(Ch6:100-103Quran)

AlmightyAllah commanded:O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do notexceedthelimitsinyoureligion,norsayofAllahaughtbutthetruth.TheMessiahJesus,sonofMary,was (nomore than )aMessengerofAllahandHisWord, (“Be” -andhewas)whichHebestowedonMaryandaspirit(Ruh)createdbyHim;sobelieveinAllahandHisMessengers.Saynot:“Three(trinity)!”Cease!(Itis)betterforyou.ForAllahistheonlyOneIlah(God),GlorybetoHim(FarExaltedisHe)abovehavingason.ToHimbelongsallthatisintheheavensandallthatisintheearth.AndAllahisAllSufficientasaDisposerofaffairs.

TheMessiahwillneverbeproudtorejecttobeaslavetoAllah,northeangelswhoarenear(toAllah).AndwhosoeverrejectsHisworshipandisproud,thenHewillgatherthemalltogetheruntoHimself.So,asforthosewhobelieved(intheOnenessofAllah-IslamicMonotheism)anddiddeedsofrighteousness,Hewillgivetheir(due)rewards,andmoreout of His Bounty. But as for those who refuse His worship and were proud, He willpunishthemwithapainfultorment.AndtheywillnotfindforthemselvesbesidesAllahanyprotectororhelper.(Ch4:171-173Quran)

Almighty Allah also declared: And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and theChristians say:Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. Theyimitate the saying of the disbeliveers of old. Allah’s Curse be on them, how they aredeludedawayfromthetruth!

They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and theirmonks to be their lords besidesAllah,(byobeyingtheminthingswhichtheymadelawfulorunlawfulaccordingtotheirowndesireswithoutbeingorderedbyAllah)and(theyalso tookas their lord)Messiah,sonofMary ,while they (JewsandChristians)werecommanded (in theTorahand theGospel)toworshipnonebutOneIlah(God-Allah)LailahaillaHuwa(nonehastherighttobeworshippedbutHe).PraiseandglorybetoHim,(faraboveisHe)fromhavingthepartnerstheyassociate(withHim).(Ch9:30-32Quran)

Allah the Almighty also revealed: Now ask them (O Muhammad): “Are there (only)daughtersforyourLordandsonsfor them?”OrdidWecreatetheangelsfemaleswhiletheywerewitnesses?

Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: “Allah has begotten off-springorchildren(angelsarethedaughtersofAllah)”And,verily,theyareliars!

HasHe(then)chosendaughtersratherthansons?Whatisthematterwithyou?Howdoyoudecide?Willyounotthenremember?Oristhereforyouaplainauthority?ThenbringyourBookifyouaretruthful!

AndtheyhaveinventedakinshipbetweenHimandthejinns,butthejinnknowwellthattheyhaveindeedtoappear(beforeHim)(i.e.theywillbebroughtforaccounts).

GlorifiedbeAllah!(Heisfree)fromwhattheyattributeuntoHim!ExcepttheslavesofAllah,whomHechooses(forHisMercyi.e.truebelieversofIslamicMonotheismwhodonotattributefalsethingsuntoAllah).(Ch37:149-160Quran)

And Almighty Allah declared: Surely, in disbelief are they who say that Allah is theMessiah,sonofMary.Say(OMuhammad):“WhothenhastheleastpoweragainstAllah,ifHeweredestroy theMessiah, sonofMary, hismother, and all thosewhoareon the

earthtogether?”AndtoAllahbelongsthedominionoftheheavensandtheearth,andallthatisbetweenthem.HecreateswhatHewills.AndAllahisAbletodoallthings.

And (both) the Jews and Christians say; “We are the children of Allah and His lovedones.” Say: “Why then does He punish you for your sins?” Nay, you are but humanbeings,of thoseHehascreated,He forgivewhomHewills andHepunisheswhomHewills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that isbetweenthem,andtoHimisthereturnofall.

Opeopleof theScripture (JewsandChristians)!Nowhas come toyouOurMessenger(Muhammad)making(things)clearuntoyou,afterabreakin(theseriesof)Messengers,lestyousay:“therecameuntousnobringerofgladtidingsandnowarner.”Butnowhascomeuntoyouabringerofgladtidingsandawarner.AndAllahisAbletodoallthings.(Ch5:17-19Quran)

Allah theExaltedwarned:Surely theyhavedisbelievedwhosay:“Allah is theMessiah(Jesus),sonofMary.”ButtheMessiah(Jesus)said:“OChildrenofIsrael!WorshipAllah,myLordandyourLord.”Verily,whosoeversetsuppartnersinworshipwithAllah,thenAllahhasforbiddenParadiseforhim,andtheFirewillbehisabode.AndfortheZalimun(polytheists,andwrong-doers)therearenohelpers.

Surely,disbeliveersarethosewhosaid:“Allahisthethirdofthethree(inaTrinity).”Butthere is no Ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God-Allah).Andiftheyceasenotfromwhattheysay,verily,apainfultormentwillbefallthedisbeliveersamongthem.

WilltheynotrepenttoAllahandaskHisForgiveness?ForAllahisOft-Forgiving,MostMerciful.

The Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger; many were theMessengersthatpassedawaybeforehim.Hismother(Mary)wasaSiddiqah(shebelievedin theWordsofAllah,andHisBooks.Theybothused toeat food,asanyotherhumanbeing,whileAllahdoesnoteat).LookhowWemadetheAyat(proofs,evidences,verses,lessons,signs,revelations,etc.)cleartothem,yetlookhowtheyaredeludedawayfromthetruth.(Ch5:72-75Quran)

AndAlmightyAllahordered:Andsay:“AllthepraisesandthanksbetoAllah,Whohasnotbegottenason(noranoffspring),andWhohasnopartnerinHisDominion,norHeislow to have a Wali (helper, protector, or supporter). And magnify Him with all themagnificence,(Allahu-Akbar,AllahistheMostGreat).”(Ch17:111Quran)

ThepagansonceaskedtheProphetMuhammad(pbuh):“TowhomisyourLordrelated,HisoriginalancestorsandHisvariousbranchesofdescendants?”It isalsoreported thattheJewssaid:“WeworshipEzra,theSonofAllah,”andtheChristianssaid:“JesusistheSonofAllah,”andtheMagianssaid:“Weworshipthesunandthemoon,”anthePaganssaid:“Weworshipidols.”
