Biogest is an international biogas
plant manufacturer with its head
quarters in Austria. Our endtoend
biogas services range from project
development, design engineering and
financing, to turnkey plant construction
and technical and biological services
aimed at ensuring effective plant
operation.
In addition to plant engineering acti v i
ties, our Own Plant Operations
business builds and operates facilities
which are partowned by Biogest.
Project development takes place in
partnership with local companies. Our
aim is to establish longterm project
partnerships which enable both sides
to capitalize on the significant potential
currently available in our target mar
kets. Thanks to our partners’ agricultu
ral knowhow and our own extensive
biogas experience, Biogest’s projects
promise a combination of operating
expertise, outstanding efficiency and
attractive returns on investment.
Our PowerRing plant type was developed to handle an unlimited supply of renew
able raw materials, either with or without slurry, and has proven its worth in a
number of international reference facilities. Biogest’s PowerRing technology is
suitable for use with almost any substrate. Less easily degradable substrates do not
require pretreatment, meaning they can be processed without causing difficulty.
A specially developed feeding system and substrate supply enables the use of large
quantities of slurry while also removing the problem of energy loss during the
degradation phase. As a result, the PowerRing system is the ideal choice for com
panies requiring largescale slurry processing.
In addition to the flexibility resulting from the wide range of available substrates,
Biogest’s PowerRing technology also offers the following benefits:
• Low energy consumption • Excellent specific methane yields
• Outstanding reliability • High degradation level with minimum substrate
and operational stability consumption
• High total full load hours • Standard designs ranging from 500– 4,000 kWel

Biogest is an international team
of highly motivated employees,
directly participating in the owner
ship and the success of the com
pany. We support our customers
on site in their local language and
offer our employees an extensive
profess ional development program
to maintain our technological
advantage in this rapidly devel
oping industry. Our management
team has a total of 50 years of
experience in this industry.
To date we have completed over
130 biogas plant projects, the
major ity of them within Europe
— the geographical focus of the
company’s activities.
Biogest fully appreciates the huge
potential for biomass projects in
this region as well as the longterm
benefits of biogasfired electricity
and heat generation.
The small PowerCompact biogas plant has been specifically designed for small and
mediumsized livestock farms and can use agricultural waste such as slurry or feed
waste as substrates, either with or without energy crops. Up to 100 kW of the elec
tricity and heat generated by the plant can be fed into the grid or used for private
consumption. In addition to its modular and compact design, which helps keep time
and costs to a minimum, this plant design offers numerous additional advantages:
• Reduction of input costs by process
ing large quantities of slurry
• Plug and play — simple installation
and lowmaintenance, fully auto
matic operation
• Can be extended as required
• High quality components and parts
• Easy to integrate into existing
infrastructure
• Suitable for isolated operation
