INTRODUCTION
The Biomedical Data Reader is a hand held unit that can
be attached with a patient to monitor heart beat rate and
body temperature remotely. Data collected from thepatient is send to the master unit using an RF interface.
This unit helps the medical team to monitor the patient
data periodically and the data can be stored in a computer
file for future reference.

MOTIVATION
By the introduction of a Bio Medical Data Reader variousparameters of a patient like heartbeats, temperature, blood pressureetc.. Can be monitored remotely.
These parameters can be displayed on a screen placed in the dutyroom on request or on time basis.
Critical condition can be informed with an alert tone.
Lack of manual observation will also be eliminated.

Microcontroller:
The AT89C51 is the brain of BDR system.
This microcontroller is responsible for collecting heart beat pulses from
sensor stage and counting them
From the ADC IC the temperature values & from the sensor the heartbeatvalues are taken into the microcontroller.
These temperature and heartbeat values are send to the remote station using
RF Module
Sensor & ADC
The temperature sensor takes the body temperature and gives it into the
ADC IC.
The ADC IC converts the analog value into digital and gives it into the
microcontroller. Here the ADC produces 8 bit value.

Heart Beat Module:
Using heart beat module takes the heart beat pulses and gives it into themicrocontroller
LCD:
LCD serves as a useful interface for the user .
It provides simple interface between microcontroller and LCD. The LCD has 16 character x 2 line display facility
RF Module:
The communication between the BDR and master unit is through atwo way RF link.
The BDR units will automatically transfer data to the master unit.
Every RF modules can be identified by their unique network address, data istransported with out clashes. The RF range is 30 meters.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS
In this project we can takes the biological parameters
like heart beat pulse rate and body temperature. In future
enhancement it will develop as a whole body measuringunit. In it body pressure, glucose level and body weight
includes.

CONCLUSION
The Bio Medical Data Reader will surely relive the staffs
of an Intensive Care unit in a hospital from the strain of
observation of large number of patients up to a good extend.
Any negligence, lack of observation, or misjudgment,
occurring in a manual working condition are completely
eliminated.
The occurrence of a critical condition of any one patient will
be noticed without time.
