The bipolar plates exhibited good electrical conductivity and tensile strength and could successfully meet the set goals to be used in polymer electrolyte fuel cell.

biomass/biogas and solar energy was used to heat and hence evaporate the water. Maximum distillate of 5.5 litre of Fl free water could be collected in 4 hours from 10 litres of Fl contaminated water. The performance of the system was slightly enhanced with the incorporation of condenser.

Summary A reactor for FT synthesis was designed. Catalyst was procured from M/s Albemarle Inc. Netherlands and conversion of stoichiometric syngas was achieved upto soft wax level. Later, new iron and cobalt based catalysts were also synthesized in-house and tests were conducted. Good conversion was achieved. Optimization of reaction parameters were done. A gas feed module was designed to prepare producer gas with desired compositions.

Summary A novel duplex model of biogas digester was designed and developed. The duplex model was found to be very effective and provided a consistent biogas production provided the operating parameters are regulated to the suitable levels. A digester with partitioned walls was also developed, which showed enhanced biogas production (performance of a 1m3 biogas digester with partition wall ≃3m3 normal biogas digester).
