B. Osmotic Activity in Animal Cells
4-clean microscope slides and cover slips, marking
pen, dropper bottle with three solutions of unknown
osmolarity, blood lancet, cotton and alcohol
C. Osmotic Activity in Plant cells
Microscope, 2-clean microscope slides and cover
slips, dropper bottle of tap water, dropper bottle of
distilled water, dropper bottle of 1.0 M sucrose
solution, Rhoeo discolor leaf, scalpel or cutter and
forceps

Graduated cylinder, beakers 100 ml and 2-250 ml ( of
the same kind), liquid dishwashing detergent ( clear
solution works better than cloudy), ½ of a banana,

A clear container with lid. ( Big glass jars and clean
plastic containers work great, but you’ll have to
throw away the containers when you’re through),
adhesive tape, water, some left-over food such as
bread, fruit ( like oranges, lemons or grapes),
vegetables ( like broccoli, eggplant, or green pepper),
cheese and cookies or cake
