Asset Skills
Asset Skills is one of 25 Sector Skills Councils and defines its domain as 'places in which we live and work'. In addition to FM, it encompasses property, housing and cleaning services. It comprises 100,000 organisations with a total of about 1.4m employees (over 80% of the organisations employ fewer than five staff). In all, this grouping accounts for 7% of UK GDP.BIFM and FMA represent our sector on this council.

• The BIFM and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers recently signed a partnership agreement aimed at joint development and promotion of excellence in facilities management practice.

• The BIFM has taken another step in building links with industry organisations. BIFM and the Heating and Ventilating Contractors’ Association are planning initiatives designed to forge closer working relations.
