The following Amendment is supplemental to the Drawings and Specifications and shall be a part of the Solicitation Documents as per the general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and other Division 1 Sections contained within the Project Manual dated 07 August 2017. Receipt of this Amendment must be acknowledged in accordance with the instructions on the reverse of the amendment (AAFES Form 4400-18). Question: 1. Question: Please verify if these (Alpolic PE) panels will be acceptable as valid

substitution to specification section 07 42 13 METAL WALL PANEL SYSTEMS.Response: The Alpolic PE panels are not equal to the specified product. Therefore, theywill not be considered a valid substitution.

2. Question: Please verify if the contractor will be NOT be responsible to unload, store and protect the AF/AI freezers prior to assembly and installation by others. Response: Bid documents do not require the Contractor to aid in the unloading, storage or protection of the AF/AI freezer panels and equipment. Specification section 01 10 17 AF/AI EQUIPMENT outlines Contractors responsibilities related to all AF/AI Equipment.

3. Question: Please verify if the contractor will be NOT be responsible to unload, store and protect the AF/AI walk in coolers and accessory equipment to assembly and installation by others. Response: Bid documents do not require the Contractor to aid in the unloading, storage or protection of the AF/AI freezer panels and equipment. Specification section 01 10 17 AF/AI EQUIPMENT outlines Contractors responsibilities related to all AF/AI Equipment.

4. Question: Please verify that AAFES will complete the actual SWPPP permit application and submit to NYS for approval and issuance. Please verify that the review period by NYS for the SWPPP is accounted for in the schedule Response: See Specification section 01 35 56 STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION MEASURES, Page 01 35 56-1, Paragraph 1.2.

5. Question: Please provide detailed information from the manufacture for the walk in coolers and freezers with regard to dimensions, panel placement, lighting, fire protection and special electrical requirements. Response: Panel Placement: If this is in relation to the wall panel placement, this is the cooler/freezer installers responsibility and should not be a concern to the bidders at this time. If this is in reference to the electrical panel, panels LD and LE are both shown and scheduled in the bid documents. Fire Protection: Per FS-1.00 this is a delegated design, similar to the remainder of the building. This work is to be completed by the Contractor as noted on FS-1.00. Special Electrical Requirements: All electrical work and coordination is outlined in the bid documents.

6. Question: The Contractor has called all pre approved Applicators listed and none have responded. The contractor proposes using Xtreme Concrete Polishing Systems. (877) 958-6207 Blackwood, NJ. Response: Specification Section 03 35 36 POLISHED CONCRETE FLOOR FINISH, Page 03 35 36-4, Paragraph 2.1, Subparagraph B., 1., states, Substitutions must be submitted to Contracting Officer in writing a minimum of 10-days prior to Solicitation closing date. Bid as outlined in the bid documents.

7. Question: What is the required R-value for the wall? R-26 or R-30 Shouldn’t the exposed spray foam be covered with a thermal barrier instead of poly vapor barrier: Suggestion: Switch spray foam from open cell to closed cell. Open cell foam may be cheaper, but with the required thickness it would add more time to the labor and schedule of the project. Closed cell would actually be the cheaper option and is a much better material than open cell. Response: See Specification Section 07 21 00 BUILDING INSULATION, Page 07 21 00-4-5, Paragraph 2.5 for specified R-value. Bid Building Insulation (including vapor barrier) as outlined in the Bid Documents.
