Head, Dpt. of IT. The main function and prize distribution ceremony was graced by the auspicious presence of

renowned personality Hon. Mr. Yashasivi Yadav, S.P. (Superintendent of Police), IPS Officer as a Chief Guest,

accompanied by equally graceful personality Hon. M/s. Jayashri Bhoj, CEO Zilla Parishad Kolhapur, Hon. Shri.

Vinayraoji Kore (MLA), President of SWVSM, Shri. G. D. Patil, Secretary SWVSM, Dr. A. M. Potdar, principal

and Dr. S.S. Joshi, Vice principal. A thought provoking presentation was given by the Chief Guest on the subject

Cyber Crimes. On this occasion Mr. Sourabh Shivaji Borchate, B.E. Mechanical Department was felicitated as

the Best Outgoing Student for the academic year 2010 - 2011.

Workshop on 'Aspen Plus Software’ Guest Lecture on “The opportunities in public Sector”

Electronics Engg. Department

Chemical Department conducted a Three days workshop on 'Aspen Plus Software' under Industry Institute Interaction with the guest from Gharada- Chemicals-

thChiplun on 20 Feb. 2011. Mr. Suresh Patil Manager (production), Mr. Ramesh Patil, Sr. Production Officer were the main guests. Both of them emphasized the need of specialization to meet the industry needs. It was coordinated by Prof. K. I. Patil and was attended by the T.E. and B.E. chemical students along with the faculty members of the department.

A Guest Lecture on “The opportunities in public Sector”, was organized by the chemical Engg. Students

thAssociation (ChESA) on 15 Feb. 2011. Mr. Rahul Kumar Mandlor guided the students. All the BE students & faculty members from the Chemical department participated the function. It was coordinated by Prof. N.H. Shinde, the department ChESA coordinator.

The Eureka Jidnyasa in the department, was organized by EESA committee of Electronics Department on 20th March, 2011.The adjudicators were Mrs. Manisha Bhanvse, Prof. D. Y. Patil College of Emgg. Kolhapur and Mr. Vinay S. Mandlik, Prof. Sanjay Ghodawat Institute of Tech. Atigere. A large number of students enthusiastically took part in the event.The winners were awarded with cash prizes and merit certificates.

The Electronics department under EESA committee had organized a four days workshop on PLC/SCAD from 5th - 8th Feb, 2011, with the collaboration of Prolific Systems Pvt. Ltd. Pune. The renowned trainers were Mr. Ramesh Wakchure (Retired Kernel from Airforce & Project Engg.) and Mr. Makarand Malkar (Project Engg. and Trainer). Alltogether 57 students participated in it. Under the able coordination of Mr. S.D. Bhopale. The event was a grand success.

Faculty Training Programme on CFD 'ASCENT 2K11' by MESA

A university level competition 'ASCENT 2K11' by

MESA was conducted on the 16th February 2011. The

objective was to provide the students with competitive

platform for their skills. During which Mock campus, Gk

challenger, Auto-CAD, Open space and lathe war events

were organized. About 350 students from different

colleges participated. The Chief Guest was Shri N. H.

Patil, President, Swaraj Foundation Warananagar Mr. V.

N. Mane efficiently coordinated the event.

The Mech. department in association with Shivaji University under lead college, & Seed InfoTech Limited, Pune organized a Faculty Training Programme on CFD

th thfrom 15 Feb. to 19 Feb.2011. The resource person Mrs. Swati Shinde from Seed InfoTech, conducted the theory classes and cleared the fundamentals of CFD & attended the participants' queries on Grid Generation, Boundary Conditions, Solver Fundamentals and post processing. More than twenty five faculty of different institutes participated. The program was coordinated by Prof. G. S. Kamble.

The Dept. of Civil Engg. under CESA organized a th

National level event. 'Mile Stone 2k11’ on 10 March 2011. During the event several competitions like Master Piece, Block Casting, Survey master, Brain Storm, Card-War were organized. More than 600 students from Maharashtra & Karnataka participated in it. The function was inaugurated with auspicious hands of Dr. M. M. Majumdar I/c principal, KIT Kolhapur. The winners were awarded with cash prizes.

As a part of curriculum, 'Civil Engg. Students Association (CESA) and ISTE student chapter conducts many guest lectures. One of them was on “Green Building Design” for which Dr. Girish S. Kulkarni, Director Dept. Technology, Shivaji University Kolhapur was invited as a

rdresource person. It was held on 23 Feb. 2011 for TE & BE students. The resource person guided the students about the advantages as well as about the designing of Green Building which motivated and inspired the students very much.

Felicitation of Hon’ble Shri. G. D. Patil, SWVSM “SPARK” An Industrial Visit to Infosys

“TechnoStorm2k11” Two days University Level Technical Symposium was arranged on 22nd to 23rd Feb. 2011, under IIIT Student Association. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri. G. D. Patil, Secretary SWVSM, Warananagar. The event was coordinated by Mr. C. S. Arage with the help of student coordinator Mr. Digvijay Patil. Students from various institutes participated in this event and hence it was a grand Success.

“SPARK” An Industrial Visit to Infosys was arranged on 26th Feb. 2011 by the IT department. Students of S.E. IT and T.E. IT participated in this visit. This visit was coordinated by Mr. S. S. Farande. It really helped the students to understand the Project Management.

Inspiro 2k11 University level Technical Competition was conducted by the CSE Dpt. on 5th & 6th March 2011. During the event various competitions like C Programming, paper presentation and poster presentations were organized. The coordinator for this event was Mr. P. P. Chothe(ACES Coordinator).The prize distribution was done by the Chief Guest Hon.Shri.Vinayakraoji Kore (M.L.A. Phanhala), Principal Dr. A. M. Potdar, Vice-Principal Dr. S. S. Joshi, and H.O.D. C.S.E. Prof. D. G. Chougule

One Week Faculty development program under Shivaji university Lead College activity on “Web Application Development using XAMP (PHP, MySql, Apache)” was held between 22nd to 26th Jan.2011. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Prakash Badhe from “Vishwa Soft, Pune”. There were 24 participant for this event from various collages under Shivaji university. The coordinator for this event was Prof. A. S. Phalle.

Technica l Act iv it ies . . . Bio Technology Department

Alumni Meet for 2010-11

BIT's organized a University level competition of Technical Events “B- Venture”,“Accentuate” and “Avahana”- Call of renaissance, on 16th and 17th March 2011. The event was inaugurated by Mr. N. H. Patil, President - Surajya Foundation, Warananagar. He motivated students to enhance and improve leadership qualities. Students from TKIET bagged the first and Second prize in these events.

During the year, our students have proven their excellence in the various National, State and University level sports tournaments held at various places. Mr. Santosh Mulkhe participated in Inter University gymnastics competition. In the lead college competitions, TKIET teams bagged Ist prize in Volly Ball and Basket Ball tournaments. The Annual sports day was conducted on 25/02/11. Mr. Amol Patil from B.E. (Mech) won the Best Sportsman Award (BOS).

Alumni Meet of the Academic year was organized on 12th Feb. 2011. A large number of alumni from India & abroad came together, where a lot of sharing & discussion took place with the staff as well as TE and BE students. A few of the high profile alumni present were Mr. Dinkar Zende (Vice Preseicent Lavasa), Mr. Pratap Patil (Developer), Mr. Shudanshu Kulkarni (West Africa), Mr.Sudarshan Nagaonkar (Japan), Mr. Milind Ghadge (Industrialist), Mrs. Vidya Desai (Manager TCE, Pune), Niyanta Mane(G M, Vodafone) and Mr. Aniket Pachore (TUV, Consultant) together with former principal Dr. S. S. Santpur.

Programs /STTP/ Workshops Conducted

A 13 member NBA delegation, from AICTE New Delhi, thvisited our Institute for Accreditation purpose from 28 to

th30 March 2011. The delegation was headed by Dr. S. K. Kaul. A thorough inspection of the institutes was done in

thgroups by the delegates. The exit meet was held on 30 where the delegates expressed their satisfaction over the infrastructure, teaching learning process, day-to-day functioning of the institutes and so on. Their happiness indicated the accreditation of the branches of the TKIET and soon a positive formal result is awaited from AICTE New Delhi.

University Results May/June 2011 Parent Teacher Association

Parent Teacher Association Meet of the academic year th2010 - 2011 was organized on 20 Feb. 2011. More than

200 parents of F.E. to B.E. students attended the function and participated in the deliberations and discussions so as to improve the career prospects and teaching learning process of the students. It was organized by Dr. S. S. Joshi, PTA coordinator along with the Principal, HODs, Cell in charges and the faculty of the institute.
