Data Store objects – New Features
• Partitioning of DSO is supportedRemodeling for Data Store objects
• Activation is changed from single lookups to mass lookup of active table. Lookup is performance optimized by using mass read once per data package instead of record by record.
• Performance gain for the improved activation (lab results)Avg. 20 – 40% improvement, Max. improvement measured – 2.5x fasterVaries by data profile (# inserts/updates/deletes) and database platform
• New rule-type for Transformations: „Read from Data Store‟
• Replaces custom ABAP code for lookups by efficient built-in lookup mechanism
• Activation using database specific SQL commands on mass data
• Improvement measured (lab results): factor 2 – 3 times faster compared to standard activation
![Page 16: BI7 3 Beginners Guide](https://reader031.vdocuments.mx/reader031/viewer/2022020105/542e96b0219acdf4478b4c69/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)

Net weaver BW7.3 – Performance & Scalability
Accelerated Master Data Loads
• Load is changed from single lookups to mass lookup of master data table
• Runtime option “New records only”omits lookups during activationspeeds up initial loads, e.g. requests which contains only new data
• Accelerated SID Handling by using an internal mass processing (with customizable threshold)
• Use of navigational attributes as source fields in the transformation avoids additional overhead for lookups
• Completely reengineered and performance optimized
• New capabilities like search-modes for the usage check, simulation-mode etc.

New Hierarchy Framework
Limitations of 3.x Hierarchy:
1. Hierarchy Data Sources were available only for flat file and SAP source systems2.Second you could not take full advantage of the new data flow, even some
old data flow features3.Third, monitoring was often unclear because the framework was not optimal
for segments.
Added features in 7.3 - Hierarchies:
1. First you are able to use any BW object as source for a hierarchy, you are not limited to a Data Source for hierarchies
2. you are able to use all features of a transformation, for example start, endor expert routines. You are not limited as you were in the 3.x data flow.

Data Flow Copy Wizard
Scenario: We have already learned about a new tool which ease the work to create a BW Data flow. Now this tool is helpful when you need to create another dataflow which looks quite similar to the once you have already created. Only a target is different or data source is different or the source system is different or transformations are different.
• Now if you want to copy the data flow, instead of „Display Dataflow‟ you need to use the option „Copy Data flow‟.
![Page 34: BI7 3 Beginners Guide](https://reader031.vdocuments.mx/reader031/viewer/2022020105/542e96b0219acdf4478b4c69/html5/thumbnails/34.jpg)

Data Flow Copy Wizard - Continued..
• System will ask you whether you want to collect also the process objects or only data model objects.
• The process objects are usually included in a process chain. As of now we will select„no‟ and proceed into the wizard
Useful information is displayed for every action you do here
