1. Introduction

This document describes how to enter data, query, generate reports and navigate in the Human Resource Analytics.

This document has been organized as per the structure given in the Table of Contents, providing procedures/information relevant to the Omran Operations as well as additional information about the Dashboard modification.

Scope of this document is restricted to, helping users in carrying out their day to day activities related to this module. Navigation Tool

It is important for a user to go through the below given document before entering Human Resource Analytics. The below given document details about the entry procedure, transaction procedure, working with key board, following the navigation etc.

2. General Overview

This document describes metrics available in Oracle Business Intelligence Applications. These metrics are housed within the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications repository. They are used in the pre- built analyses, and / or are available for customers to use via Oracle Answers in building new analyses or extending existing analyses. Oracle Answers is the ad-hoc query and reporting tool used for building and modifying analyses. This document also includes additional metrics which can be made accessible by means of minimal configuration. These additional metrics are included in the Business Modeling and Mapping Layer of the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications repository. Configuration required before using them merely involves exposing these metrics to the Presentation Layer within the underlying repository

3. Starting Oracle BI Applications

Pre Requisition

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x1 or Later

Adobe Flash Player (Latest)

Application Login

To Log into application, oracle uses internet explorer. You have to select the http address (for your Site which will be provided by your System Administrator) in the internet explorer window as you are connected to a normal web page. Your Oracle BI application has integrated with the “Oracle E-Business Suite”. So there is no separate link for BI application. Once you connect into the web page, Select Apps Login Link to get Logon screen.

Use the below mentioned URL to access the Instance

http://orapp01.otdcnet.com:8050

This will take you to the “Oracle E-Business Suite” Login Page

4. Entering User Name and Password

Enter User Name (provided by your System Administrator)

Enter Pass word

It will take you to the “Oracle E-Business Suite Home Page.”

The E-Business Suite Home Page is your entry point to Oracle Business Intelligence.

From this page you can:

1. Access Oracle Business Intelligence functions from the Navigator

2. Navigate to frequently-used functions or Web pages from Favorites

Click On “Oracle Business Intelligence Administrator”

6. Creating and Editing Dashboards

To create a new report in HRA, from the home page click the “New” Dropdown button and select the “Analysis” Link.

Home Page>New>Analysis

Select the appropriate Subject Area to create a report. In our example select “Human Resource – Absence and Leave Accrual” Subject Area


After Clicking the “Human Resource – Absence and Leave Accrual” Subject Area it redirect to Criteria Tab

Select “Brand” Sub menu in the “Human Resource – Absence and Leave Accrual” Subject Area

Human Resource – Absence and Leave Accrual>Brand

Select the “Age band name” Sub Menu under the “Band” Menu

Human Resource – Absence and Leave Accrual>Band>Age band name


From the “Age Band ” Sub Menu drag and drop the column “Age Band name” into Selected Columns box

Go to “Age Band” Sub Menu


Human Resources – Absence and Accruals>Band>Age Band

From the “Length of service Band” Sub Menu drag and drop the “Length of service band name“ Filed into Selected Columns Box


Edit the “Performance Band Code “Field and Select the “Edit Formula “Option

Add the Count Function to the “Performance Band Code” Filed


Click the “Result” Tab on the Top Left


To Add Graph to the Report

Click the “New” Drop down Link and Select the “Graph” in the Drop down. And in the Sub Menu Select the “Pie’’ Chart

New>Graph>Pie


Click the “Save” Button to save the Analysis


Select the appropriate location to save the Analysis

Shared Folder>Omran Asset Management>Subject Area contents


Go to Home page and Select the “Catalog” Link

Select the “Dashboards”

Shared Folders>Human Resources>Dashboards


Select the Appropriate Dashboard to add the Report

From the Dashboard Objects drag and drop the “Section” into Dashboard


Select the Saved Analysis and drag and drop to the New “Section” Area

Click the “Save “Button to save the Dashboard

Click the “Run” Button to run the Dashboard


To Add New Dashboard:

Select the “New” Link from the home page and Select the “Dashboard”

New>Dashboard


Enter the Dashboard Name


Select the ‘Section” from the Dashboard Objects and drag it to the “Drop Content “Area


And drag the saved analysis into the ‘Section”

Click the save button to “Save” the Dashboard


And You can access the saved Dashboard from the “Dashboards” Link
