STEAM TURBINE MANUFACTURING DIVISION
NTPC was in URGENT need of HP Rotor with Inner Casing to meet the
emergency requirement of NTPC Ramagundam site. Emergency Repair
Action Request was received from NTPC on 03.04.2020 for urgent
requirement of HP Inner Casing at Ramagundam site for restoration of
breakdown. It was complete lock down in Bhopal and curfew was imposed all
over Bhopal. It was very difficult to mobilize resources like manpower, crane
operation and inspection agency. No movement was allowed n city except
essential services that too with permission of State Administration. Seeing the
urgency of Customer, all concerned persons of assembly, machine shop, crane
operation personnel, Engineering and quality personnel were contacted for
their consent to work during lockdown seeing the sensitivity of situation. Each
and every employee immediately agreed to work to meet customer urgency.
Their zeal towards work was really appreciable. Movement pass of all
concerned employee was arranged on priority. HR and P& PR department
played a major role in arranging these permissions to support our actions.
REPAIR ACTIONS were started on war footing from 06.04.20 in 2-shifts.

All activities of machining and assembly were successfully completed
on17.04.2020. For inspection by NTPC Inspector, our representative
escorted them from their residence, during the complete inspection process
& dropped back at their residence. . Final inspection was completed with
release of CHP on 17.04.2020. Special permission was taken by our Logistic
department for despatch of job. . Job despatched from Bhopal was received
at Ramagundam site on 04.05.2020. Cash payment of Rs 623 lakhs also
received from NTPC on 18.05.2020.
Final Assembly of HP Turbine Rotor with Casing for 500 MW
GM(Thermal) Shri M.L Taurani congratulated all members of team directly
involved in this mission for making this happen and to satisfy our
Customer – NTPC.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and its employees have
come forward to wholeheartedly help the nation in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus, Covid-19.
BHEL employees have made a humble contribution of donating their
one-day’s salary to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to bolster the fight against this unprecedented medical emergency.
Significantly, BHEL’s Ranipet unit has developed in-house a spray
assembly that atomises the sanitising liquid and can be used for
mass sanitisation for combating the Coronavirus, while consuming
comparatively less liquid. It has been named BHELMISTER and has
been donated to the local administration of Ranipet for sanitising
the whole town on a mass scale. The design is being shared with all
other units of BHEL so that it can be adapted and used by them as well.
In addition, BHEL units at Tiruchirappalli, Haridwar, Bhopal and
Jhansi, have made hand sanitisers in-house, for distribution and
use at their local BHEL hospitals, dispensaries and also for distribution to the security personnel and essential services staff.
Three-ply masks have been made in-house by the company’s Jhansi
unit to meet the requirement of the unit’s hospital, guest house, security guards and employees working under essential services.
Banners, hoardings, pamphlets and displays on Notice Boards
regarding Safety measures and awareness on the coronavirus have
been displayed across the organisation at its office premises and
townships. BHEL is fully geared up to offer assistance in whatever
way possible to the nation’s determination in combating this calamity and will keep stepping up its efforts in this direction.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and its employees have
come forward to wholeheartedly help the nation in the fight
against the Novel Coronavirus, COVID-19.
Aimed at extending a helping hand to alleviate the effects of this
pandemic, BHEL has made a contribution of Rs.7 Crore through
its CSR funds, while its employees have made a humble
contribution of donating their one-day’s salary to the Prime
Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations
Fund (PM-CARES Fund). To bolster the fight against this
unprecedented medical emergency, a total amount of Rs, 15.72
Crore has been transferred to the PM-CARES Fund by BHEL.
BHEL is fully geared up to offer assistance in whatever way
possible to the nation’s determination in combating this calamity
and will keep stepping up its efforts in this direction.
